An awkward topic to discuss about yourself but I accept the challenge. At my high school graduation (many decades ago)…our valedictorian did an amazing job on his speech. It was the highlight of the entire ceremony. He formulated his speech around a theme, and that theme was the television show “Happy Days”. And what he did was select a number of us students and compare them to the characters in the cast. I was chosen as the Fonz…eeehhhhh! And if I may be so bold, he was spot on. I’m a huge introvert but I always managed to be among the most popular in and out of school. I would probably credit extra curricular activities I was involved in for elevating me to “cool” status. At a young age I excelled in sports. MVP in baseball more times than I can remember, MVP quarterback in football and #3 overall in the state for swimming. I also learned to play multiple instruments and joined my first working band at age 14. I had my first hit song on the radio by 25. I worked my ass off at 14, saved and bought a Harley at 16. The only dude to ride a hog to school everyday. I dated the most beautiful girl in school all four years we were there. I always took care to look my best and act accordingly around adults. I could go on…but I won’t. I never asked for attention or to be in the spotlight but the paths I chose, the people I knew and the activities I engaged in made me the cool mother fucker that I am.
Cool? Cool is an absolute term even though it is a nebulous reference without any one true definition. This term does not correlate to Weather or Thermodynamics. It is not a reference to relative temperature as to degree or gradation. Ever person has their own perception or reasoning to access if someone is or is not cool. You are either cool or not cool. This is not your decision. Only others can determine if you fall into their category of cool. You cannot be sort of cool because if you are then you are not cool all of the time thus being not cool because to be cool you have to be cool 24-7/365. If you begin to think that you are cool you have taken an irreversible step away from coolness. If you know you are cool then you are absolutely not! The only way to be cool is to be cool while not having any idea that you could ever entertain the idea that you might ever be cool now or in the future. Even if you were actually cool by consensus yesterday, you can wake up and be not cool for absolutely know fathomable reason. The pursuit of cool is antithetical to being cool and can cause permanent irrevocable un-coolness. It is easier for things to be cool than for people to be cool. People do things to be un-cool and things do not. It is better just to be yourself, and hope for the best.

I guess that depends on who you ask. Among my peers, I feel like I’m pretty cool. But the thing about “cool” is it changes. The youth kind of decide what’s cool, and often reject what used to be cool as decidedly UNcool. I actually think I get on pretty well with people who are considerably younger than me, but who knows, maybe they start laughing as soon as I’m gone😂
I guess this question is best answered like this….
I go out of my way to stay in contact with my friends. Many don't bother messaging me ever, so maybe they are too cool for me. One even bailed on our plans without any heads up after we planned to meet. I sure felt like a fool. But if a friend does make the effort, I'd hold them in the highest regard.
I'd say 7 maybe 7.5. In school I was friends with popular people but I wasn't popular. That basically sums up my "cool" level. I'm not very attractive wither but I make up for it in personality. I'm extremely creative and absolutely hilarious. So yeah. 7-ish.
Last school year I had three different students that weren't from my class come up to me in the hallway and tell me that they thought I looked really cool. It was different students on different days.
Well it actually varies. Some people would consider me very cool giving me a 10, and so i would give that score to myself too. But some people might not find me cool as compared to other people.
I had so much difficulty trying to figure out if I'm cool so I asked my friends and family. The range was between 6 & 9. I wouldn't put myself that high. I just do me.
