I'm genuinely curious. I've always been told that I need to dress comfortably, but I see people dressing up. And which one do you prefer? Dress up or casual?
It's probably heritage from times where flying in planes was something fancy. I understand where this comes from since I flew quite often as a kid during this transition, but I do nothing like it anymore. I know it's not something well seen, but I'd fly with shorts and sandals if I feel like it.

I had to wear an undershirt, long sleeve shirt , tie and suit jacket to work..
Dressed as such I'm comfortable standing in the Snow.
The office is hot enough for me to be very uncomfortable in shorts and a tee.
In a suit I feel like I'm going to pass out.
They wanna feel rich I guess. I like traveling comfortably myself. I mean gotta go through TSA etc.

Where on Earth have you seen that? Every time I travel, I see people looking like slobs or like they just woke up.
I dress up to travel because I want to look presentable and show that I care about my surroundings.
When I travel, I dress comfortably, wearing clothes that I'd rather not pack in the suitcase. That often means wearing something more than casual yet still comfortable.
Temperature changes... At Christmas, USA I had to go to middle east in winter gear. Got off the plain in the desert in black wool p-coat...
nobody does that anymore. People used to dress up to fly somewhere. now you see people in gym shorts and tank tops or girls wearing pajamas.
