Too casual to sit at a bar/pub and have a glass of wine?

Last time I went rather overly dressed now I am wondering if I went too casual?

The last time I got talked briefly at the end of the night. Tonight I feel my outfit maybe a bit better but it maybe reading tooo young since I actually got carded. Then at the bar I did pull some attention and finally after changing seats a few times I got some friendly attention from a few mature gentlemen and ladies. One particular fellow kept engaging me in small talk and all of a sudden the bar tender comes from behind me and says come here sweety I want you to meet my good friend and the young folks. She introduces me to a very handsome young man... And his friend and a girl who I could tell immediately by the threaten looked on her she was either the handsome guys girl or she had laid her claim to him.

Actually I know the bartender meant well but I actually was enjoying my time with the mature company that keeps to the other side other room.

These younger group under 36 probably either have their clicks or are playing video games 🙄.

Damnit I think I failed on the outfit once more...

I feel like I was placed at the kiddies table during Thanksgiving lol 🤣

I do not think you failed on the outfit you failed on the your approach. If you were having a good time where you were, then you abandoned the possibilities just because some random bartender throws a shinny object in front of you and you chased right after it. As far as the outfit goes, well nice tits. If you wanted attention then you go it... but you're 35, so your no ignorant kid you knew what you were doing and I like the the outfit.

And this is why at 46 I don't waste my time with 35 years old, because you can have nice conversations but they never take you seriously. They are just old enough to know better, but still too young to have clue and that is why they still single at 35. They do just like you did, ditch out on you for a younger crowd then act like they can't find any good men. And as soon as a younger handsome guys shows any interest they fall right back into the pattern that has lead to all their last failed relationships. They act like dating an old guy is too much like settling, but they got to be 35 and are still single... still making all the same mistakes. Then one day they are 46 and the looks have faded and they can't figure out why all the men in their lives have failed them... the truth is they didn't you failed yourself. So maybe it has nothing to do with the way you dress.

Older guys don't play games, and are not interested in playing games. And you totally played games, you were having a good time... you liked the conversation and interest you were getting. But all it took was a comment and you abandoned the situation because the grass looked greener on the other side. Because deep down you wanted the young handsome guy, it turned out this guy was taken... but what if he wasn't you would not of given the older guys a second thought. Truth at your age if you were going to land the perfect man he would of showed up by now, so either you got to change your approach or start chasing harder after guys your own age... which apparently hasn't work out for you yet.

This bartender saw older guys putting the moves on you and you abounded the possibility to just to sit at a table with some younger handsome man who had a girl already there. Were you could of just as easily said, thanks but I am enjoying myself right were I am.

Actually I did make my way back to the group I was originally with. I did not care one bit for the younger group. I had a wonderful time with the older crowd and we enjoyed many rounds of pool.

You jump to too many conclusions man which is way far from the truth reason why I followed the bartender was I figured she knew something I didn't know about the particular man who was talking to me. That woman is there every single day she's going to know the people inside and out so if she pulls me away from somebody I'm going to follow her lead. she introduced me to a previous coworker which she deemed safe to talk to and she even made that quite clear he was mature enough but his buddies weren't anyways I wasn't interested in him in a romantic sense but as a bud he seemed cool enough to hang with but his girl was a nervous wreck by me anyways his girl and friends were way too young for me to chill and hang with and I made my way back to the group I was at and when I made my way back to the group The fella that was talking to me was gone but that was fine with me because with the vibe the bartender gave (and he himself) gave me a sense it was for the best however the rest of the old people just a little old than myself made for great company and it was exactly what I was looking for that night a group of folks to chill with laugh and have fun with. I was invited to come back and shoot pool with them anytime.

Sounds like that's twice the bar tender steered you in the wrong direction... but you trust her word because she is a bartender? Or she could just be trying to hook up her freinds, or maybe the guy you were talking doesn't tip enough, or maybe he blew her off one day, or maybe she was just trying to mess with the other guy and brought you over there to throw salt on her game... best to think for your self. That's my point, you walked away from the other guy based upon someone else's word without really knowing her motivations, and she told you at the time it was to get with a younger crowd... so why not take her for her word and not assume any thing more. My point is you made an assumption based upon what she told you and went with it and blew off the other guy when he gave you no reason to do so.

They guy you were talking to left without bothering you again... so maybe he wasn't all that bad. Just not going to play games. Glad you had fun though and I am sure you will figure it out. Still not the outfit... there is some thing in what I said that speaks to a degree of wisdom.

My main point is still the same... someone put a shinny object in front of you and you went that way and it didn't work out. And apparently that's the second time she did this to you. I mean you just don't know... but its all foolishness'.

Maybe I do assume too much, or maybe you assume too little... more likely the truth is in the middle somewhere so don't completely discount what I have said.

I what originally wrote is how guys take it... even if you didn't mean to or think I am assuming to much. You did what you did, and that is how men take it. If this guy was interested in you and if he did think he was making progress with you... well you blew him off and you didn't think twice about it. Don't worry if he is a descent guy and you run into him again on pool night, he will act like nothing happened. But in the back of his head he will remember that you blew him off even if you don't see it that way, because that is how you made him feel if know it or not, or if you believe it or not.

You look good but in this day and age lots of guys are afraid of “harassing” a girl or invading her personal space. As a guy I basically never get approached but I also almost never approach anymore because rejection gets old and I’m tired of the unreciprocated attention. I’ve also had girls dressed in sexy clothes only approach me for a free drink which is a huge turn off because I just feel used so I don’t ever agree to that. I’m sure lots of guys noticed you but were scared. If you want to get a guys attention why don’t you approach him yourself? That’s the most effective way and your far less likely to get rejected. At least you had guys chat you up if a guy goes to a bar alone and sits alone chances are he’s leaving alone and nobody at all will talk to him. That’s my experience at least

That's a good suggestion if you looking for a man then approach him yourself... you are absolutely correct especially with older men, they are not going to waste much time with younger women that show up at the bar dressed like that. Hard to take them seriously, they love the attention but are flaky as hell. They flake out on you, and then go home discouraged that they didn't get the attention they were looking.

Oh dear God no thank God lol actually the night went rather pleasantly once I snuck away from the college kids and don't get me wrong they were very nice group they were sweet I mean I was offered beer prefer wine though and it was just a bit too rowdy for me I ended up getting bumped into by a boy and spilled my drink so anyways I found a nice group and we ended up playing pool so interestingly I have to say in regards to what you said while I was playing pool and I had line myself up to take the shot of course I looked over my shoulder to make sure no one was behind me but just as I took my shot someone comes and walks behind me and I accidentally hit them in the rear I felt so bad about jabbing the person but they actually apologize to me for making me miss my shot I'm thinking person you probably relieve me of the embarrassment of missing my shot lol 🤣

Now I don't mind if you choose to be rude to me at all but dont insult the people who respond to the question. whatever there answers may have been regardless if it Actually answers my question or if they were side tracked and answered something different than what was asked the time they took isn't "cheap". there's hundreds of other questions they and you yourself could have answered instead. As far as attention regarding my breast or if I want advice on my breast I'm not afraid to ask it. I have in the past come out straight out in the open and asked. They group behind were rather underdressed. It was rather intriguing when the bartender assured me off to stand with them and they're literally 14 years younger than me if that and I mean as long as none of them had fake IDs lol I did my best hanging with them. They're okay I had some conversation with them I was offered beer but I prefer wine. After one tipsy lad something to me cause me to spill my glass of wine I wiggled my way out of there. I did finally find a nice group or men and women a little older than me to talk with. We ended up enjoying several rounds of pool.

I was very comfortable in the outfit I wore just as I was very comfortable in the last outfit I had worn. It isn't so much as caring about what people think as in wanting to come off approachable and friendly. But with the previous look I believe the nylons the heels was too much it's hard to explain... As much as we like to say that we don't judge people based on how they dress is not true because for example if we see someone covered in muck we're not going to want to approach them. The only thing I can say I noticed last night was I was taken to be much younger than what I was. I don't know maybe it was the Converse speakers but I was actually carded unlike the previous time and I found it kind of cute that the bartender felt she had to pull me away from an older gentleman and lead me to this young man who was probably easily 14 years younger than me.
