When getting some serious exercise laps in, a 1-pc competition suit is what I'd use.

When I'm not planning to exercise, 2-pc for relaxing is what I usually wear.

On the way to the beach or a swimming pool away from home, I'd cover up with a track suit or t-shirt & shorts.

It depends on the beach- I prefer nude beaches, in which case I wear nothing. On other beaches it depends on the vibe- lots of family I'll wear trunks with a 5" inseam. Mostly adults or overseas? I'll wear a speedo.
