Before I ruined my hair with chemicals, it probably would have been almost to my waist straightened
But mom didn't know what to do with my hair, so when I hit 6th grade, she was like, "Oh yeah, let's puts chemicals in it instead of just finding the right products for it" 🙄. And I'll admit, I did like it for the first year or so and got used to my hair being straight all the time and never curly.
My hair never grew the same as it did before and always stayed a bit past my chin, then shoulder length and when I graduated and didn't have to see all those racist mfs everyday, trying to fit in with them, I decided to try and cut the chemical off, so I could get my hair to go back to being a normal curly again and just try to find the right products to help it grow, I guess, I don't know.
But my hair, since I destroyed it with chemicals, has only managed to be shoulder length, or a little bit past my shoulders. I hate it and just hope it'll go back to being a little longer again, huh.. I miss having longer hair.
Did she put chemicals in your water?
Down to my thighs, lol. That was when I was 14 🤷🏻ββοΈ It was not by choice. The school made us girls wear braids and also for some reason lot of girls and my teachers liked my hair and didn't want me to get them cut. (They saw mine at events) 🤣 When I passed my 10th standard and went to college I got them cut down to shoulder length. Since then the longest I prefer to keep is down to my hip bones.
Back in 1999 when I met my wife, my hair was the longest it ever was. It went down to my mid-back. She took some pictures but this was back with film before digital cameras. I would be hard-pressed to find the digital copies she made - probably on her Facebook somewhere.
However, I do have some pictures from the past...

I was told a few years ago on Facebook by a girl I went to high school with that I "had the best hair in high school". I did have righteous hair and the girls did seem to like it even though I was a "shy guy" comparatively speaking.
In April of 2000, my mother's twin sister just died from AIDS. This was just before they turned 57.
Knowing how upset my mom was, I decided to "clean up" for her for the funeral. So, I cut my hair. However, it wasn't wasted. All along, I knew that I was going to donate it to Locks of Love to make wigs for kids who are medically bald (like going through cancer treatments). My wife took pictures of when I cut it. My donation was 22 inches long, IIRC. Looking back, I find that a little hard to believe. Over a foot, yeah, definitely, but almost 2 feet? I dunno... Then again, my hair had a natural curl to it as you can see in the above picture, so if you stretched it out, maybe it was 22 inches.
I discovered Locks of Love in 1999 because rock star Sammie Hagar cut his on The Tonight Show so people would know about that charity. So, after seeing that, I knew to keep growing my hair and knew what I would do when I eventually cut it. My hair was definitely longer in 1999 than what Sammy Hagar's was in this picture.

Sadly, this video is really shitty quality, but this is when he did that.

Here's when Ann Curry cut it on The Today Show in 2006. That broke my heart in a way because Ann Curry was gorgeous with her long hair! Still, this is a good human interest piece about the charity and Ann cutting her hair. Start around 59:51.

You were a very beautiful 16-year-old lad!
@HippieVeganJewslim No quite.
I was short.
I wore glasses.
I had bad zits.
I mean in the 79 picture. You look a lot like Robert Plant, although not as curly-haired. I am 168 (probably a tad shorter back then) and wore (still do) hippy glasses at 16. Many of our age had pimples. Youβve a gorgeous smile!
About a foot long. That's as long as it would get. It would just stop growing.
I've had at least semi-long hair most of my life. I think I first started to grow it around 1969, but couldn't grow it very long because the dress code hadn't changed yet. Up until the 70-71 school year we couldn't have it below our collar or touching our ear. Back then even an inch long was considered long and was almost enough to get you suspended from school.

I don't know about actual lengths but if I pulled it down it touch my lips. Mine frizzes outwards 😂 it doesn't droop down
This was UK just out of first COVID lockdown. So like a year of no haircut 🤣
Had it long enough where the wave would cover my eye and swoop back. But that was in high school. Girls in class loved it. They loved running their fingers through it. Until it put me to sleep and i started snoring. Then teacher had to tell them to stop and wake me up.

In Egypt. Even Longer Later When Having Come Back. xxoo
I had it touching my shoulder before I went into the Army for Basic Training, and for a short while just before that I had an earring in the left ear. One of my sons has long hair now, longer than mine was at the time.
My hair seems to stop growing after a certain length, I had it long enough to get dreads so long enough I guess
Did it stop growing as soon as You got dreads? I want to get dreads and wonder if thatβd help it grow.
I never got dreads but I don't think it helps it grow, if anything it helps it grow a certain way but not speed lol
Down to the middle of my shoulder blades when I was in my early 20s, around 1974. I was a rock guitarist and vocalist in garage bands.
I was a biker. I could sit on my hair and tuck my beard in my belt. In full leathers on my Harley I'm told I was quite intimidating 🤪🤪🤣🤣
My hair came down to the top of my thigh before I cut it the first time.
All the way down my back, had it this long for about the last 20 years.
I had it down to my waist for the majority of my teen years, until a year or two ago.
I wasnβt alive in the seventies, but the longest my hair ever was is right now. It goes a few centimetres past my titties. Boys and enbies also can have hippy hair!
my hair tends to defy gravity, but it's currently just above my shoulders and i really like it
Well, I never had really long hair, and anyway I started to get bald very young ;0)
I never had long hair even when I was younger.
My hair was down past my shoulders, but when I start to lose it, I keep it short.
I have had it 6 inches past my shoulder before but mostly keep it short. I have had it that long with in the last 7 years also.
The longest was the back went past my shoulder blades and my bangs was about 3 inches past my chin

About that long
You look good, mate!
Currently my hair is down to my lower back. It used to be down to my knees.
Mine was down to my shoulders when I was in high school
Mine about half way down my back. It is about half way there now and will get there again soon.
Lower back length, which was amplified by being 6'7 😁
Below my shoulder blades. It's almost that long now.
A little past my hips. Iβm almost there again😌🤞
About 18 inches, past the collar bones
3 or 4 inches tops.
Pretty long about halfway down my back
Just past my shoulders. I prefer short hair
Over my ears not quite to the shoulders.
I've had it down in braids past my butt.
