I think it's because young people are so insured about themselves
They have to shave their twat, balls, ass, legs, arms and who knows what else.
I mean what's the point. Like I don't care about my wife's tiny mustache and chain hair.
I really think this dates back to the, forever more, great acceptance of oral sex that began in the 70s but probably did not become full fledged until the 90s or so.
That also means that with oral activities being naturally assumed, so are ideal circumstances surrounding it. Hygiene and of course hair. One thing leads to another and we get a trend where hair is generally less desired.
Although I'd probably argue it pretty much always was and that the most significant change is the pace of information and accessibility to your preferences that drive forward a need to meet common preferences which are, for both men and women, more often than not less hairy.
I do prefer the oral-sex revolution idea. Especially as it gives some credit to our parents and previous generation. Not a lot of things we can credit them with today so I take the W's where I can.
I've been shaving everything except my eyebrows for over thirty years.
I did and do still shave for many reasons.
Though those reasons have somewhat evolved over the years, I've boiled them down to feeling cleaner (BO is much, much less present), tactilely (my junk doesn't get tied up in knots of pubic hair, as was always a bother to me before I began shaving) visually (I prefer my look when I'm shaved), and the primary reason, sensuality.
The feeling of my smooth skin against a lady's smooth skin is incredibly sensual.
To each their own.
The only thing I don't shave are my pubic hair and arm hair. My arm hairs are really fine though, so it's really hard to tell.
The main reason most shave is society and especially porn was telling everybody it keeps you clean and neat. If you have hair, you're automatically labeled dirty and unhygenic (sp?). It's actually not a good idea to shave, and there are no health benefits whatsoever shaving.
98% it's nothing to do with lice, just society thinks removing hair is neat and clean, and not removing it is dirty and disgusting.

I think it is because porn is so popular.. I don't see hair as a huge deal, but I also only date guys who aren't super hairy naturally lol

Well! I have stopped shaving since 2011 at age of 27, now i am Bearded, full chest and shoulders hair, i groom my beard and it smells fabulous just for me and my wife, i shave my head and i wax my balls because i like that feeling 🤣
Fuck shaving, it ruins the face and that's why i have a full beard and zero fucks given for the haters, women do dig the beard too and it's awesome
I must be the odd younger guy on here. I like my chest hair and my fiancée does too. However u are right, I think younger guys may be going smooth. A guy on her commented that it looked like I had a jungle on my chest 🤣
I just don't see why guys would want to shave their bodies. Is it the demasculinization of the human race?
I think it’s for aesthetics and maybe makes them look cleaner plus some shave it down below because of sweaty smell staying there. I personally don’t really shave anything except my face
