I work at a very fancy place and I’m the concierge so most days I dress on business casual. I’ve been told plenty of times that I’m pretty/beautiful. Today i dressed up extra nice and wore a dress for open house. One of the older ladies who’s a cook came to me and told me I looked cute today. Lol why would she add the today part? Should I be offended?

No! Most people say things that way. Like "oh you look handsome today " I'm sure she wasn't insulting you. Like if I'm just wearing jeans and a t shirt one day and the next I'm wearing dress pants with my shirt tucked in I can understand that yeah I look better than I did yesterday.

Because she's not looking at you next week or a month ago she's looking at you today. You must be one of those people that finds offense in everything to even ask that question. I hope you find happiness in life. It's a lot more fun.

"Today" isn't to exclude other days. Just a way to add extra information in the sentence.

That's like saying "How are you today?" means the person doesn't care about the other days.
