Guys, what do you think is a reasonable price for your wife/girlfriend to spend on a formal dress for an event?

I am just curious what guys think would be a reasonable price in your mind that if your wife/girlfriend told you she spent X on a dress, you'd be like, yeah, cool....

However much she wants, within reason. My lady only wears dressy clothes so she has a closet full of dresses, skirts, and vintage pieces. No jeans, no yoga pants, no ripped booty shorts, and no crop tops. Her most expensive dress is around $900. The price is because it was a custom piece handmade in Eastern Europe. Her every day skirts, vintage pieces, and dresses are between $50 - $200.

Honestly I’m very conservative when it comes to money (my wife don’t work) but if she wants a nice dress, it’s one of the few things I’ll splurge on.

I do not know - but if she is going with husband/boyfriend then the husband/boyfriend should be able to spend the same on shirt/tie/suit/shoes for the event
