My mom forces me to wears socks in the home cause she says it's cleaner for the house. But in recent times, she made a concession that I can wear slippers if I don't want to wear socks in the house, so that is what I do when my feet feel clogged from sweating in socks all day long.

yes- i only wear them for work. when not at work even in winter i have on sandals and no socks

They can be. One time the steel plate inside got slightly crooked and it rubbed my toe raw. The blister took over a month to heal and the scar is still there almost two years later. That was just a fluke though.
