Can you remove makeup and shower with contact lenses on?

I’ve been wearing contacts for over 6 years and from what I’ve learnt and practiced is that no water or other product should come into contact with the lenses. I thought everyone followed that but I suppose not.
I was watching some YouTube skin care routines and I was surprised to see them using cleansing oil (and rubbing it with their eyes open) on their eyes, washing their faces and even showering with their contacts on. Is this allowed when using daily contact lenses? Cause I have biweekly ones and I’m pretty careful with them on. Thanks!

You can wash your face and shower with them. Ideally don't get anything in your eye just as without contacts it will irritate your eyes. I prefer to wash my face before taking my contacts out because I don't want to get makeup on them

You definitely can. I used to wear mine 24/7 for some days. Those were monthly lenses. I never had a problem.

I even went into pools and lakes with them, including short diving… no problems.

I don't think so. Because contact lenses can come off very easily
