When it comes to being presentable in public, why do so many now not even bother?

I ask because where I live I often see people without any shoes on. I often see people in shops who didn't even bother to change into something more appropriate than their pyjamas, and it seems as though wearing clothes that are a couple of sizes too small is all the rage right now. Whatever happened to style?

They're either poor, lazy or just don't care. I guess stores stopped kicking people our for being barefoot. And it's always the kind of feet you don't want to see without shoes.

My personal favorite was the guy in one of my classes at university, who gave a presentation in stained sweat pants. If I was the teacher, I would've shamed here in front of the whole class and told him to change into something more presentable.

I think this is more common in rural areas/smaller towns though.

I agree you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. But at a certain point you have to have some dignity not only for yourself but others around you.

I would highly suggest if you wanna walk around naked move to a nudist colony, but most of them aren’t the type of people you want to see naked.

I went to my sister-in-law's funeral, in Atlanta, and many showed up so dressed down, I could not believe it... I give up guessing why.

When my daughter was in collegeci saw her go off to school in her pajamas. When I asked her about it she said lots of kids do it. Look at how people dress at the airport. People used to dress up to get on a plane. Now anything goes. In a way it is good because I hate to get dressed up but people just go too far.
