It helps but not necessarily a universal role. I’ve seen some women who we’re absolutely stunning but when I saw their “younger” pics they hadn’t mastered the unbelievably sexy look of confidence, locking down a style, and growing into their own personality. These same women took their looks more seriously and tended to be healthier and more attractive as a result.

Youth also tends to focus on trends and often takes beauty for granted as a byproduct of simply being young. Plus, confidence in oneself is an amazingly attractive trait and I don’t recall meeting many young women with it when I was on the dating scene in my younger years.

My wife has gotten more and more beautiful over the years and, while she things age is a constant but ultimately losing battle, I’ll definitely take the late-30’s version of her over the 20-something I met. Not even close!

Not necessarily, but generally speaking, probably yes. It’s just that some people look TOO young at some points, and they look better when they’re older. I feel like people have different peaks a lot of the time, like some people have a mature look about them and look great in their late teens and early 20s but run out of gas relatively early, and others are later bloomers and maybe top out in their 20s, 30s, and maybe even their 40s, in a few cases. Kind of depends on your face and your overall look.

First of all, how to know that you're attractive to someone?

They smile at you or keep staring or secretly take photos of yours? If they don't compliment you?

Then, to whom? FYI ** I always look younger than my age, and I don't think looking younger helps.

Nope, it's more hell. Everyone always say u look like a kid of 9 or10th standard 😭. When I'm not. I'm in uni😑and this thing sucks.
And they also treat u like a kid, when u are a grown up individual who gonna turn 20 this year.

This question has no context, such as "compared to WHAT?"

If a woman is 20, but looks 14, then 15 and 16 year old boys might think she's more attractive, while 25 year old men may not.

But in a broader sense, the truth is obvious. The makeup industry has hundreds of billions of dollars in annual revenue, and what is it designed to do? Make people (overwhelmingly female people, but a few men too) look younger. Most elective cosmetic surgery is the same. And now we have beauty filters on digital cameras, which are designed to make people look younger.

These huge industries would be a fraction of their size if society didn't widely agree that looking younger was more desirable.

Uh, no. When it comes to women they develop a body (usually) that looks better as they age up to a point. The body of a teenager is not 'better' than the body of a grown woman. Secondly, some women get better looking with age (again, to a point). Genes and lifestyle make a difference. At 45 my wife put women 20s-30s to shame without even trying. Yes, some women age really bad and quickly. At 30 they look a lot worse than at 25 and so on. Lifestyle matters too... of course women who don't bother to ever get any exercise tend to look worse with age than those who do.

Of course if a guy thinks 18-22 is the best look you can't tell him otherwise. I strongly disagree tho. Except in rare cases.. and to me those rare cases are only attractive because they look like older attractive women. Not because they look like they just learned how to drive a car.

There's other variables I haven't even mentioned but think this is enough...

Not necessarily for me. For instance, I have poor lower third ratios/a less masculine lower third, so if I shave my beard & mustache, it removes a major amount of my masculine dimorphism & makes my face look more youthful but in a bad way. I'll look less manly & more childlike. Prettyboys can pull off the shaved look due to the amount of harmony in their face & their more feminine dimorphism especially in the eye region, but I am not a pretty boy so I can't.

I do. I think I looked best face and body wise when I was around 21. Well... my body's starting to deform a little now and I know it'll only get worse in later years. It's still good enough where I get complimented if I go to a beach, but I notice the changes that others don't notice. They actually say males peak their attraction level at age 25, so my observations is in line with that statistic. The only thing that can go up from here on out in my life is my finances and standard of life.

For women? In general, yes. Young women are at their peak as far as dating/marriage/sexual desirability go. Her ability to attract a husband, have men pursue her, have kids are all at their peak when she is young.

For men, 28-40'ish is probably their peak.

Well definitely yes, if you show more years than you have it is not the best. Basically, I believe that looking younger is a way to make ourselves attractive.

I look young. I don't know how old I look to others some say 18. But one doctor (not my doctor) thought I was a minor. 💀 Maybe he meant 17 cos I don't think I look younger than that.
