I use liquid fabric softener.

Really cute dress that I only got to wear once got some kind of oil stains on it from the fabric softener I used. Since then, I don't touch it. I don't care if it was just the brand or something, I'm taking zero risks with my clothes.

My wife bought some of these fuzzy balls. We have about 6 or 8 of them. Thry reduce the status.

Yeah. I like them in part because you don't have to pay attention to the rinse cycle to add the liquid softener. Although some machines have an automatic dispenser.

Neither. I've never had an issue with static (seriously, just give your garments a good shake and it goes away), and I don't feel the need to add more chemicals to my clothing, waste water or landfill.

Old habits die hard. I use neither. Can't use them at my old job when you're washing work clothes because fabric softener glows like neon in NVGs.
