Should I change my piercings now?

So long story short, I got my ears pierced 8 years ago and I've been wearing the same earrings until last month. It's been a month with my new earrings and I'm so scared to change it since last month, when we took my old ones out it hurt so much! What should I do and any advice? Ik this is really silly but don't blame for being scared😭

I know 0 people who find it a dealbreaker if you didn't put on some metals into your skin. But I know crowds of men who are absolutely disgusted by piercings. Why all the pain to make yourself look disgusting? ﾠ

Haha girl I totally get being scared to change pierced ears, especially if it hurt last time! Here's what I'd do:

- Take some ibuprofen 30 mins beforehand to reduce pain and swelling. That'll help tons.

- Make sure your hands are clean and the earrings are sterilized before changing.

- Try breathing deeply and stay relaxed as you unscrew/pull out the existing earrings. Tensing up will make it hurt more.

- Go slow, steady movements rather than yanking it out quickly. Gentle is key.

- Have some antiseptic cream on hand to soothe your ears afterwards.

- Maybe do one ear at a time instead of both together if that stresses you out less.

- Don't psych yourself out too much! You survived the initial piercing years ago after all.

- Reward yourself with your fav snacks afterwards for being so brave, lol.

I remember being a kid and removing my earrings for the first time after wearing the same ones for ears. It also hurt me I don't know exactly why. But after than I was able to change earrings regularly and it's perfectly fine. Try to remove your earrings every night before going to bed and then put them on again in the morning.
