I suppose I see it the other way. What business do I have asking people about their private decisions? Whatever they chose to do to find happiness, confidence, or attain a level of personal fulfillment is not my right to judge. If somebody is close enough to me to share that they have obtained cosmetic surgery - be it to correct a self-perceived flaw or attain a ideal of beauty they are seeking - then I should respect them enough to keep it to myself. If they haven’t shared it with me then I should just file that in the ‘none of my business’ folder and close it.


I feel like it would be very arrogant & entitled of me to walk around thinking that other people owe me that honesty and, should they fail to give it, it reflects poorly on their character.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with plastic surgery but lying about it is wrong.
especially if we’re talking about a celebrity who has young and impressionable fans.
It creates unrealistic beauty standards.

And it’s especiallyyyy fucked up when these celebs use their looks to sell beauty products.

for example Kylie Jenner used to deny having lip filler and would claim it’s just lip liner. She was known for having her big lips and started selling her lip kits. It’s almost as if she’s saying “if you buy my lip kits, your lips can look like mine”

Or when a gym influencer gets a BBL and tries to sell you her “work out routine” to look like her.

I've had stitches 4 different times from injuries. The ones in my lower lip after a bike accident were put there by a plastic surgeon to reduce the scar. It doesn't bother me to say it. There's nothing sensitive about it.
