  In Indian tradition especially Hindu tradition, the sign of marriage is toe ring, not the ring in hands. Ring in hand is new trend and is choice but the real symbol is toe ring. Because by seeing feet we could know she is married. Which is kind of a respectable way of seeing a female without sexualizing her.   The persons who want to sexualize it then we can't help it, some people sexualize even non living things. It's their problem. But in Indian tradition feet is symbol of respect. Whenever we meet elder person we touch feet and take their blessings. Whenever we pray god or goddess we worship their feet. Feet is respectable here not the object to sexualize but to submit ourselves.
