A substantial portion of gay men put more into their appearance. They work out to create a good body, might dress more consciously, take care of their hair and facial hair, and wear colognes.

However, none of these things, or even all of these things, mean that the man is gay. He might just also coincidentally care about all or many of these things. Men are putting more into their appearance nowadays.

Yes, women enjoy looking at attractive, well-kept men. But when they're gay, and you can tell this by their mannerisms, body language, and voice, it's an immediate turn off. For me, at least.

Handsome is sort of a physical, outward appearance, empirical, often agreed upon fact. (There's some subjectivity, sure, but not much. Most humans around the globe agree on symmetry as being the #1 deciding factor, irrespective of skin colour, features, shape, etc.) Attraction is a much more fluid and subjective concept. And I don't know about other females, but I'm not attracted to gay men. Plus, they're pretty catty. And there's enough of that in women's world.
