1 yI’ve never been asked to change because I looked too sexy, or not sexy enough. However, if I was going to meet someone in my fiancé’s family and he asked me not to wear something because it’s too short, or too revealing and might be offensive, then yeah, I probably would. It’s just common sense. I would never wear anything inappropriate to a funeral, but if we were going to my fiancé’s grandmother’s funeral and I decided to wear a red sundress, and Lee asked me to please not wear it, I wouldn't!
It’s not about “I’ll wear what I want” it’s about give and take, cooperation, and respect for your partner. I’ve seen women wearing completely inappropriate clothing for the venue in which they are present. I wonder if he politely asked her to not wear that to church, and she yelled back that she would wear what she wants!
So I suppose the short answer is yes, with a qualified maybe. I guess their motivation is everything!
I hope this helps.

On the same thought, if the girl is naive enough to wear a mini-skirt and showing the twins off at an event such as a funeral , etc etc, I imagine the guy would reconsider the relationship, and would ask her to change at the time. Same goes for a guy naive enough to wear a banana hammock to such an event with no shirt, lol.

I've been dressing the same way for years. Never been told I dress too sexy, so maybe this doesn't really apply to me. But I won't change anything about me to satisfy someone else, never again. I live for myself.

1 yYes, I would and have.
I have always been very minimalistic and as a result of that I had very VERY few clothes when I began dating Raine. I dressed purely as was practical for maximal comfort and utility (I know, boring right?). For reference, when I moved (before dating her) I packed all my clothes into a single carry-on.
Since I began dating Raine, my wardrobe has grown and seen significant change. I knew when I started dating her that I wanted to dress in a way that would pair well with her style and be more attractive to her.

m 1 yI will invariably dress how I want, however I will also dress suitably for the venue, occasion, and to not look like some clown who has this ‘I will wear what I want no matter what’
for example day to day would be jeans, however if we were going out to a higher end restaurant then would be more smart casual.
also I live rural and tend to wear clothes more fitting to the countryside and it would likely be her that would need to change what she’s wearing, heels and the countryside are not a great match.20 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)1 yIt depends on what they want to change, how much and their reasoning. For example, if we’re going somewhere and they don’t like what I’m wearing coz it doesn’t fit the setting of where we’re going then yea sure. If a have a dress/top I wear all the time that they don’t like and want it gone then sure is be willing to let go and get rid of it.
If it’s just out of nowhere you want me to stay dressing a certain way and wearing things I’m not comfortable with then no. If this change isn’t going to have any benefits or positive impact. Then no.10 Reply
1 yIt's always been a part of life for me. They don't "make" me dress a certain way but will buy me clothes for birthdays/holidays and put the pressure on to wear what they bought me. It's the same as cologne, I don't think I've ever bought a bottle of what I like. I honestly don't care.

1 yThey won't ask. But there has been times when I will have to ask them because of their behaviors. My shoes are thought to be inappropriate for the day or something. It's always been thoughtful so yes I will consider it.

Really hard keeping the skirt appropriate though...
Well yes, but I reckon it's more difficult having to keep that smile going, what with all the flies around this time of year!

@geminidiamond You prefer cars I guess then huh?
- 1 y
Lol.. I mean you ever ate a huge bug?
- 1 y
It's not the speed, it's the bugs
Oh yes.,. the crunchier the bett.. I'm sorry even as a joke I can't complete that sentence! Ugh..
But if you wear a crash helmet with a visor all that happens is they get squished instead of eaten.- 1 y
Dusty knows how to avoid them, but us less experienced, we eat it. Like she did! At first.
Does this happen a lot? Where you ask a question about the way you dress, and it ends up being about bikes and bugs?
- 1 y
Tommy, I'm going to shove a bug in your mouth going 80mph
Ermm thanks, I'll have a nice chewy bee please.
- 1 y
To say who has never ridden a bike. And I'm terrified of bikes.

Ridden on the back, ate bugs , hate it.

- 1 y
That is too fast
You would hate being in a car that could do that speed too?
- 1 y
I'm afraid of the speed on thr bike. But, really of the bugs. Like YOU are
- 1 y
Tommy is afraid of eating bugs
- 1 y
Why you jump biker, but you won't eat a bug
Hey I'll have you know.. I've eaten Rabbit before! I did not know it's name until now though!

I've been trolled.
Easy tiger.. are we not playing at humour? If not, at what point did things change?
@dustybiker2 oO This is what I get for trying to include others into the conversation.. Now she thinks I'm a troll.. When will I ever learn? lmao
- 1 y
Oh you're not trolling? You're not following me? You never even rode a motor bike? Never ate a bug? All I see is a fake ass troll
I was talking to Dusty. I had no idea who you even were. I thought I would do the polite thing and include you in the conversation. I took your insults and shrugged them off thinking you were playing.. I merely played along too.. Now I get accused of being a troll?
You must think really highly of yourself to think I would follow you!- 1 y
Blah blah, still haven't rode a motorcycle. Never ate a bug. Is what I just heard, Dusty fan
Have fun being the only one who understands you and the voices inside your head! I'm finished wasting any more time on you.

All i know is, good luck understanding women big mountain man. Having never rode a motorbike or ate a bug. God bless for being gentle on me.

53, 54 responses.. to my question? Ty babe
Pretty sure I can make a decent decision on what's socially acceptable for a given location/event. "Too sexy" honestly isn't a good reason and probably just indicates jealousy/insecurity to a degree that results in controlling behaviors, which is not a trait I look for in a partner.

1 yGenerally I don't give much attention to what I wear, but in the frame of going out with someone I appreciate, sure I would listen to their wish in that field if any. I feel this as a form of respect in order to be confortable with each other in public.
20 Reply479 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I personally would not change , but in the situation presented I would certainly expect my partner to change , its just the nature of respect , and you need to portray the message that you are in a relationship , this I always find just naturally happens so I'd never have to present it as a request , its just common respect for the other party.
So my answer is " None of the above " .

1 yIf my wife sees what I'm wearing and says you can't go there wearing that it is inappropriate, then yes I will change.. she has way more idea about clothing that I do!
Although, to be fair she will change too if I say the same, or usually I just laugh then she playfully wallops me and THEN changes.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yI prefer to not give any input on how a girl I'm dating dresses because I get to see her organic nature. If she likes to dress in revealing clothes for other dudes, I know exactly what's in her mind and I get to cross her off the LTR list. But if my girlfriend asked me not to wear clothes that show off my bulge, I'll do it for her out of respect.
10 ReplyIf she's my loved one I'll change my style but not permanently because I want to match my comfort and if a person whom I don't love randomly says me to change my style then I'll not if she's a girl or a boy

1 yIt depends. I understand if I were to be showing some skin I would change just like I wouldn't want my partner going out in something that outligns his package. But if I'm wearing something comfortable and he wants me to dress sexy what do I do? I wear what I am comfortable wearing
20 Reply4.9K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Not a chance. I have been dressing the same way for 20 years or more. I am not changing my habits now.

10 Reply 702 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Not really. If they have a favorite color -- or if they took the trouble to buy me something -- I'll try to wear it when I know I'm going to see them. But generally I wear what I like (what suits my personality and figure).
