Only in the sense that most women look less attractive when they aren't smiling but sunglasses can make them more attractive in that situation. Then there's some rare women who look less attractive with sunglasses.

If they fit the face. Some eye wear can really look stupid. I knew this girl that wore glasses so big, it made her face look like a duck (No, not duck face). She was really pretty without them.

Me too actually. I even had counselling cos wearing my glasses has a massive effect on my self esteem and confidence.
I feel people judge me as boring with glasses.
But I do see and know the stigma is loads less nowadays and a majority of people even look good in glasses.

I was thos outgoing wild friendly popular child at school. We moved. I was age 7. Around sane time I moved new place new school no friends I was told I needed to wear glasses and I was bullied horribly. So maybe not specifically because of glasses but I guess a link between them and "bad stuff". I withdrew and became a shy quiet kid.
Inside I was still thos passionate wild thing with lots of ideas and a desire to be free. My friends I guess saw that side of me but I felt because of my glasses other people presumes I was a boring need. And tv reinforced this. Look how spiderman didn't need glasses anymore once he's a hero? Look how superman was considered a need in glasses when boom, take them off and he's hot and great. Look out sandy in Greece is the ugly underdog girl but when they transform her.. they remove her glasses to become beautiful.

So yes @DrPepper12 it was a message still very much abundant in my childhood.
