Who Did you get your sense of style?

I got mine from my mix of interests, anime, and being an artist.
I always thought that irl clothing was honestly really boring and had little personality (and I'm not talking about those atrocious art pieces people see on the runway). Most of the time i see jeans & t-shirt, buisness suit jacket with a vneck & jeans, or a semi-balanced in color thigh-high skirt, low-heel shoes, blouse & earings/necklace. It's like people are copying a "modern fashion" magazine/article, instead of showing off their passions and interests.
My personal style is a mix of comfort, D&D/ren-fair, steampunk, & goth.
But in terms of anime in sense of style. I dont mean the over exaggerated stuff, but the more simple but stylish that you will see in series like ghost in the shell, gundam, and rpg fantasy series. Mens outfit having midriff jacket, over a nice shirt, honestly looks great and the jackets can come in all sorts of designs. Shirts with color trim on the sides, actually stand out and accent the bodies proportions. Armor fashion can be light weight, and give a feeling of strength. A pair of elbow length bracers, with fingerless gloves, waist cape, & greeves, actually looks really nice, especially paired with dress clothes. A 2-tone laced shirt looks great with a nice esthetic

Everywhere, general society, parents approval or disapproval, friends, foes, tribal influence I was involved in or being against, music, cinema, personal representations. Wild mix. I reasonably expect this complex process to be true for anyone. In complete contradiction with the famous trope: "I am what I think I am"

a mix of things. social media, pinterest, mvs, tv series/movies, what some people i know wear what's trending, my previous styles dating back to childhood, wanting to give a certain image or impression on people, the music genres i like, what looks best on my body, etc

Pinterest is a huge contributor to my sense of style. I believe our sense of style is a reflection of our personalities and the more you subject yourself to different types of aesthetic, the more you narrow down exactly what style represents your personality the most.

We had a Tailor shop 'down on the Boulevard, from our High School and I became friends with one of the owners over a period of time and continued to buy from him after I graduated and for years afterward. He showed me a lot of things regarding suits, ties, dress shirts and how to mix and match them with different patterns and styles.
