Depends on the person. If you're not good with needles you prolly won't do well with tattoos either but, it's not a guarantee either way. Also where u get the tattoo can make a big difference.

Personally I do okay. I've got a couple arm tattoos & they weren't very bad, but I did have a hard time with my head tattoo. Apparently that's one of the worst spots lol I had to take several breaks to cool off cuz it hurt so bad.

My husband has more than I do he's got a whole sleeve & a few extra, but he has to go with someone & warn the artist b4 cuz he handles them pretty bad. He's got a whole routine to make it go smoothly brings his own water, fidget toy, & vomit bag. Lol

If this is your first time i would not go alone, just in case. Bring a water bottle or take water if they offer it. Relax. Breathe. If you start to feel lightheaded TELL THEM immediately & don't be scared to ask for a break—or a trash can. They do this all the time & know it hurts. It's fine & expected to need a break every so often, & it's way better to throw up into a trash can than on your clothes or their floor/furniture. Good luck man you got this! 🖤

Yes, of course it hurts. They use a machine which rapidly pierces about 5 layers of your skin to get ink inside the wound. It feels like your skin is being cut as the needle is moving - because it is. And that's just the outline. If you have it shaded/filled in, then they'll be using multiple needles in the gun at once, and it feels more like your skin is being burned.

And, of course, tattoos will also change how people view you. A significant portion of the population will always see you as being of lower class, and you may limit your future opportunities (and, yes, this still very much happens). So make damn sure you are okay with the short-term and long-term consequences, because once you start down this road, there's no going back, and no "do-overs."
