Black and brown hair is by far the most common colors of (natural) hair, so it makes sense that much rarer colors like blonde and red are going to stand out and get more attention.

And it's really only been about 100 years that bleaching hair blonde (and having a reasonable result) has been possible - but fascination with blonde or red hair goes far further back then that.

It's also far from universal - blonde is probably my least favorite hair color, though I don't have strong feelings against any hair color. Lots of men don't particularly care about blonde hair - but there are still enough that a girl who dyes her hair is likely to notice some difference.

Of course, the very fact that hair can now be dyed is diluting the attraction of blondes (and redheads) - it's less unique and thus less special than it once was.

That's hardly a fair example. You start with an amazingly hot looking woman, giver her bedroom eyes, and a gorgeous cut. Show her wearing a single spaghetti strap on a gown that is very revealing - by implication- and behold, an attractive women. I think you'd get the same result regardless of hair color or even no hair at all. She's a beautiful blonde but she would be a beautiful redhead, brunette, anything whatsoever. If it's a photo of yourself, you are stunning- regardless of who the subject is she is stunning

It's just a beauty standard that just gets pushed by Hollywood. Naturally blonde people are rarely good looking without makeup, hence look at Taylor Swift. Myself I was blonde as a kid my hair went darker as I got older but my lashes stayed light which just doesn't look good in general, I feel like I always have to wear mascara. When I was a teen and dyed my hair blonde I seemed to get more attention then with my mousy brown hair. Now that I am older it seems I get more attention with brown lol. So really it doesn't matter much.

The rarest hair color is red.

The second rarest is blonde. Blonde females seem to be in the most high demand and is why many non-blondes will die their hair.

Blonde guys are in the minority as well and make my legs go limp when I see a hot one. No, I am not kidding!

White people are the only race that has naturally blonde hair, with the exception of some Melanesian tribes and Albinos. So a lot of none White people find it exotic, because it's different from what they're used to. Myself, I prefer black haired girls

That's just a perspective though, like I prefer red heads more then blondes or brunettes.
But people who like blondes can be because of the classic figures you have mentioned, even though they dyed their hair, they still influenced a generation to like them and others like them.

That's an interesting thought. Women change their hair color often, so you never really know if that's even their natural hair color, Sometimes you can tell by looking at the very base. The natural color will start growing in after a while.
