How many pairs of clothes does a person need per season?

I have too many clothes. I’ve filled a bag with old autumn dresses and dressing gowns and sweaters. I’m wondering how much more I should get rid of, when I live a simple life with no need to dress up most of the time.

Some basics for around home. A few different outfits for going out. Some nicer ones for going to fancy restaurants. One outfit that is appropriate to wear to a funeral. Of course different outfits for different seasons.

Realistically speaking you need 7 pairs to get you through the year with washing. But for show offs the limit is the sky

No don't throw away your clothes like that. Try to wear them out. Give them out to your servants or something. Women's drawer should not be empty lol and I am a guy hahah.
But yes I think you should wear practical clothes. Focus on comfort. If you have following things in your clothes then give them away.
My rules
1. If a cloth has developed holes. It has to go especially if it's a t shirt 👕.
2. If it is tight, give it away immediately.
3. If it is made of synthetic material give that away first. Because without cotton in summer I can't live my life and in winters I like Wool Polyester mix fabric with polyester not more than 20 %.
4. Never ever give away your marriage clothes. They are a memory to keep and pass on to the person whom you Cherish most and think he can take care of them the most. I still have my grand father's pants and boy are they comfortable 😊. Nothing beats those unless I get hand stitched and that's time consuming. I miss my M&S clothes
