It’s rude and disrespectful , everyone has different genetics and built differently, so to tell someone they should lose weight , is actually an insult that most people do not take easily. Only selfish disrespectful people make comments about someone else’s’ weight. Mainly people that think their shit doesn’t stink , and little do they realize their shit stinks and eventually they will realize they are in for a rude awakening , when something happens to them and they end up putting weight on. . So If you don’t like someone’s weight , keep that shit to yourself , you aren’t accomplishing anything by insulting anyone , you are just making yourself look like more of an asshole than anything. I had to get surgery because my gall bladder got infected and sadly I ended up putting on some pounds from it , I didn’t gain a shit ton of weight from it but enough to make myself esteem drop , I am not happy about it whatsoever. My doctor told me not to exercise until I get my other surgery taken care of first , I have to get tumors removed underneath my rib cage that they found when they were taking my gall bladder out. So I am pretty screwed until my next surgery , my ex made some rude comments to me about my weight gain and I told her she should go get her face fixed , so she doesn’t look ugly anymore. I know my come back was rude as well , but she needed a taste of her own medicine . Her comments made me feel like I am this disgusting person , so once my surgery is completed , and I am able to exercise again , I am going to get my ass back in shape and tell her to Go fuck herself. Lucky for me I got hit on by a even prettier girl then my ex , and this girl told me all positive things that made me feel better about myself , now my ex is jealous that this other girl finds me attractive and now begging for me back. I just laughed and said Katma is a bitch isn’t it.

For the health of society it probably needs to be accepted again. People re not going to do the work to stay in shape unless there is peer pressure to do so. Its not enough for just doctors to say this.

What we are doing right now in suppressing such public and peer pressure outside of said forums for decades is NOT working, and never will work.

Yes, very rude. I’ve been on the receiving end of that multiple times by people who aren’t my doctor and don’t have a phd in medicine and more often then not, it did a whole lot more damage then good.

Context matters.

If you walk up to a stranger and say that, then yes it is rude.

If you are talking to a friend or someone you know well and health or exercise or weight comes up in conversation it is rational to tell them losing weight would be good if they have a health/weight problem. If you are talking about dating and a person is overweight it is rational to say you'll get more romantic interest if you get fit and in shape and lose weight.

Context and relationship matters.

That depends on the situation. If one of my friends was on the heavy side and dealing with health issues, I might suggest it. I don't think I would be an honest friend if I told them otherwise. I wouldn't ever bring it up for the sake of talking bad about their body. That's none of my business.
