How do I make my nail polish last longer?

I am looking for tips. I wear OPI nail polish, and just lately it has been chipping sooner than it used to. What could be causing this? I don't think they have changed their formula, but this is frustrating. Nothing is any more frustrating than working on your nails and having them chip sooner than you would like. Could it be the weather, or something else? I do not know exactly what could be causing this. Frustrated!!! Thanks for any tips.

File your nail (don’t too smooth).
1. base coat
2. Colors
3. Top coat


And don’t forget to seal your tip every time you apply the polish.

Make sure your nails are properly cleaned before. Then put a base coat and for the top coat use multiple thin layers

I don't paint my nails often, but my mom always told me that you do multiple very thin coats. It seems to work better than globing it on there.

Can't hurt. Is a bit of a pain having to do a few coats but mine always lasted longer.
