No politically correct answers, why is being physically attractive relatively uncommon?

I know average looking is the norm, but why aren't more people considered attractive? Why is it like 20 percent of the population is attractive, why not more?

Most people don't have the genes/structure for it

Most people don't groom well enough

So many people are out of shape

More people are attractive than what society and social media would lead you to believe

As you started you "know average looking is the norm" that is MOST so 60% so that leaves just 20% ugly and pretty!

But i would say only 10 are pretty including 5% of total "smoking". Which is a shame. I guess it is like iq' that very rare to be 90% of maximum possible iq score.

I mean less than 10% of humans are in top 10% of iq.
In fact only 3 are officially in the top 10% of iq' all 3 are male, one with a "perfect score 276".
on that iq scale, mine, also in top 10% is a bit higher than Ainan. Total 4 males.
Highest girl is 82% , 228 iq' behind Ainan.

The very definition of "average" necessitates that people below average attractiveness and above average attractiveness must be less frequent than the amount of people who are average. When the measurement is based on average, then above average things will always be less common than average.

Just like a men of average height now is 5'10, and 6 ft is considered above average. In 1850, 5'8 was average and 5'10 would have been considered tall. It's literally just how math works

evolution decided that for some reason most of us are 5-6s as a blueprint. maybe if you google it you might get an answer. anyways that hasn't changed throughout the centuries because most if not almost all average looking people reproduce and pass on their genes, so the proportion of hot vs average doesn't really change

Thus the people at the extreme ends, either horrendously ugly, or breathtakingly beautiful, would make up the smallest portion of the population.
