What color and style of Derby Hat should I wear to the Kentucky Derby?

I will be attending the Kentucky Derby in May of this year. I know that Derby Hats are really necessary. I cannot decide exactly which hat I should wear. I know that they come with bows and other decorations. Should the color match my dress or go with my dress? I will be looking soon. Thanks.

I don't really know what the Kentucky Derby is , so I can only relate to the Melbourne Cup , which is a giant festival and a huge day out , so I'd say pick a hat that can be used at multiple occasions , hats are a big part of Melbourne Cup.
