When my hair first started growing out, I was able to put my bangs down and cut them so they wouldn't fall into my face. The second time I tried, I couldn't get them to lay flat anymore. By the third time, my hair just stayed up and I couldn’t part it to the side either. Now I only have one hairstyle I can do daily and honestly I don’t mind because my hair has gotten thicker and it looks good.
But is this normal? I’m asking because I had a buzzcut for four years and now that I’m finally growing my hair out it’s much thicker and fuller. Still I’m confused why won’t my hair go down like it used to?

It's pretty common for hair to change texture or behavior after a significant style change like growing out a buzzcut. The new hair could have a different natural growth pattern or texture, making it harder to lay flat. The thickness and fullness are great signs of healthy hair! You might try using a heavier conditioner, leave-in products, or styling creams to add weight and control the hair. Regular trims can also help guide your hair into your desired style. If you're ever unsure, a hairstylist could always offer guidance tailored to your hair type. 😊
