Why am I not seeing American females wearing maxi skirts?

Why don't I see females wearing long maxi skirts such as ones with hems that end in the ankles and especially ones with hems that end at the top surfaces of feet toes?

I have traveled to Las Vegas, New York city, and New Jersey. I also watched multiple online videos that happened in real-life USA. I have also worked as a Pizza Hut server and also have worked as a Walgreens Customer service associate for almost a year in New Jersey.

I have only seen and remember three mainstream Americans wearing maxi skirts. One of them was not even female but male. The rest are females.

Why is this?

(1) SEASON: You're not going to places where you'd see maxi skirts. They've also been out of season. (It's a summer style. The season for those is only just starting now as the weather gets warmer. I just purchased a lovely sun dress yesterday.)

(2) AVERAGE HEIGHT: They're not as attractive on shorter women bc the style is made for slender taller women.

(3) COST: Most are cut in a fashion called "peasant" dresses/skirts bc our grannies used to make the dresses and add fabric to the bottoms when we got taller. There's no reason why THOSE types of designs would currently cost $300+ in any store since they're designed to save money... Personally the last time I wore that style (peasant) dress I was perhaps a gangly teenager.

Also, the online videos. You acting like if there is a place where maxi skirts are mainstream, people would not use the internet there like why?

Also even when it's not summer and more colder, I see females wearing short skirts but not maxi skirts which is weird because the shorter the skirt, the more you will freeze uncomfortably. Explain that.
