From a certain perspective, yes.
The idea is that nerds are so preoccupied by intellectual endeavors that they can’t or won’t invest meaningful thought and energy into curating a more generally attractive style.
I’m not about fashion at all. While i have things about which i’m quite nerdy, i wouldn’t characterize myself as a nerd. If someone looks like they don’t make time for dressing “cool”, i immediately wonder what they’re making time for. Which makes them interesting, and interesting is attractive to me.

“Nerd”. Does it still have to do with greater harnessing of one’s gray matter and subject enthusiasm for intellectual/academic discourse? At least, that is how it was implied when I was a kid. It wasn’t ever a bad thing or a thing that got anyone teased or picked on.

I've been a nerd my entire life. I've had no problems dating women.
