If men wearing skirts are bad, why are women allowed to wear pants?

I don't have a problem personally if a guy wants to wear a skirt. Maybe not a mini skirt so we see his junk, but if he wants to rock a longer skirt, I have zero problem with it.

I do realize though that society has more of an issue with it than I do. I think we need to move on in society from this idea of gender norms and allow for more equality between the sexes.

Women have not always worn “men’s clothing”. In fact, women’s clothing that even resembles men’s clothing is distinguished by buttons and snaps being on the opposite sides from actual men’s clothing. Ell oh ell!
Kilts have remained popular traditional garb in Scotland. To your point, the US does still frown upon men showing that much skin in a work environment. That’s yet another example of institutionalized sexism.

Women started wearing pants in ancient times, in antique Persia and China.

On the other hand, in some ancient countries, men were wearing gowns and garmins that kind of look like dresses or skirts.

Even in Europe (Scotland, and some parts of Ireland), men were wearing kilts (male skirts).

Sure you could argue that some skirts are functionally the same as a kilt but that is not the norm.
