Why cannot guys wear skirt?

I live in Turkey and I like to wear skirt and I only wear it in my home I cannot wear it in public because of social pressure.

I think skirts like pants and if women can wear pants, men should wear skirts.

And I'm not gay, everyone says if you wear skirt, you are gay and I'm really sick of it.

Because skirts are so loadedly feminine that it will look like awkward cross dressing in almost all cases. You might pull it off if you wear the most masculine dress possible, with nods to historical men's garments. Even then some (most?) people will balk, but you'd have more success, unless of course what you actually want is to cross dress.

A trend one might notice from the above? Want to be a man and wear a skirt? Grow a beard. The underlying tone of skirts/dresses is SO feminine in modern society that everything else needs to be heavily masculine to have a hope of pulling it off.

Guys can wear skirts, but as you said, social pressure (depending on where you are) can come to bear. If you lived somewhere more progressive, or could stand up to public pressure, then you could wear whatever the hell you want. But come on, Turkey is hardly known as a bastion of liberal progressive modern thought.
