Where does glitter even come from?

Ever just run into that one dot of glitter on your skin or clothing and not think too much of it cause it's not a big deal? No one ever wonders where it comes from, I don't own anything glitter based and still somehow spot glitter on myself at some moments in life, I can only assume many others do as well 😂
