I would say most men want a women that is not abnormally tall or abnormally small. The general health standard is that +/-2 standard deviation is considered abnormal growth. Are abnormalities attractive to you? Do you seek men with 2 heads, 7 toes, or cancer? Probably not. You seek guys that have all the normal features. So being that the average height of a women is 5' 3.5" and the standard deviation for female height is 2.5", this would mean most men find women who are from 5'1" to 5'6" most attractive. As a man I would say this is accurate for me. I would argue women think in a similar way. The average height for a man is 5'10" with a standard deviation of 3". So guys that are above 6'4" are likely seen as a bit too tall and and 5'4" and under is too short. You see women often report in polling that the perfect height for a man is somewhere around 6'1" to 6'3", but many women are willing to date average sized guys and even slightly bellow average height guys that fall in those 2 standard deviation. That said once you go above or under that 2 standard standard deviation interest tends to drop significantly. So would a 5'4 guy date a 5'6" girl? Yep, that would probably happen, but in reality men on average are taller than women, so when healthy height men seek healthy height women, the man will generally be taller. It's not that the man needs to be taller for some ego thing, it's that freakishly tall or small women are less appealing. Try asking the reverse of men. See if they want to date midgets. I bet you there won't be that many takers. The guy would still be taller than the midget, but he still won't date her.

That's usually my preference, but i have made exceptions. For some reason tall chicks think I'm hot. I've never pursued a long-term sort of situation with a tall woman though. I'm 5'10" or around 178cm, so when I say tall, they're pretty tall. I had one friend that had a fetish towards tall women, which was funny because he was shorter than me. Now judging by his girlfriends and his side chicks... that just doesn't happen for him. He's always banging short chicks like I do.

Obviously may it's only me who thinks this, but for short guys to have sex with tall women is a challenge body wise.

Also they could be on heavier side not bulky but based on their bone density and bone weight.

While that's generally true, for most men, it's more of a preference than a requirement. I've dated a girl taller than me and my preference is petite girls, but personality is a powerful motivator.

Biologically, it's also FAR more likely for the man to be taller anyway, so this isn't a huge issue. There are far more women who will ONLY date men in the top 5% of height (6'2" or taller) than there are men who refuse to date a taller woman.

Everybody is different but I would say MOST men want to be taller than the girl and MOST girls do not want to be as tall as the guy, in a relationship. The reality is that taller women can be a bit harder to make love to, as you've got to practically mush them to a pretzel to get any good positions. Plus they cannot hold such positions long, and tend to have low stamina, hence you end with a disappointing love making session.
