I don't see the harm in it. It promotes the beauty and charisma/intelligence of different women and nationalities. I find it strange how people have a problem with beauty pageants and not modelling or nude/sex scenes in movies. At least with pageants you're supposed to be more than a pretty face and hot body, it takes a lot of preparation. Also, it promotes diverse beauty from different places, rather than just one specific kind as modelling industry and Hollywood usually do. Personally, I see it as a celebration of femininity and like to root for the women similar to me by nationality or culture or just anyone with a good message or cause and personality.

I honestly don't think the most beautiful women go into beauty pageants. Most of these girls are very average looking, kinda pretty girls. The actually gorgeous women are in modeling. Or volunteering- yes, kind, selfless women are gorgeous as well. Pageants are where all the fake girls go.

  • Beauty pageants can be a bit of a double-edged sword. On one hand, they can empower participants, boost confidence, and provide opportunities for career advancement. On the other hand, they can sometimes promote a narrow definition of beauty and create pressure on participants. It really depends on how they're organized and perceived. In their best form, they celebrate diversity, talent, and personal growth. 😊

I’m not really interested in them, but i do believe in “live and let live”. If people want to pay for them, others want to participate and more still want to watch, they should be free to do as they please. As long as they’re not hurting anyone in the process.
I’m more than a little leery of the children’s pageants. Some parents really need to be reigned in. That’s not just pageant parents though. Parents of young athletes get nuts too. It’s not always about what is best for the kids, and in that way it should be regulated respectfully.

I'm not sure I know enough to provide an informed response and that probably goes for at least most of the responses to this question, which read like assumptions and stereotypes of what they are or what they're like. I don't think the answer is quite as simple as it's being made out to be.

Not a fan of the STRESS and STRAIN women put into participating in them. However I've been in one or two small ones that were scholarship-based and one of my kids also. It wasn't terrible, but also I refused to subject myself or my kid to the terrorism and hovering that some of the other participants had to deal with.

OK. Just get the misogynistic scumbag dudes out of judging birds' beauty by reducing them to starving stick figures and making them buxom birds ala 50's and 60's pageants.

Actually, both times the judges were women for me. For my kid only one judge was a guy bc he was invited as the founding president as an emeritus judge. I didn’t have a negative experience and my kid made great friends who are still connected today, years later.

Good to have role models for girls to look up to but it shouldn't be about external but internal. That said, fun to watch as a young teen, but had no idea how much BS it was. I'd have been better off reading my math book.

I did enjoy the Mrs USA a few years ago with the gal that won on personality in the talent show. It was so obvious she was the right pick.

Sort of vapid. But they're okay as long as there are no men competing.
I think it's good to celebrate female beauty, but the idea of one being the most beautiful of all the contestants is totally subjective and rather absurd. It's probably political. But it is a contest, after all, so somebody has to win. And making a contest is the whole excuse for having a pageant in the first place.

    After Trump and Epstein?

Can you really tell me you don't look at those girls now and shudder at how much cock they had to suck? Or feel sick at what creepy old White/Jewish guy they had to let wreck their bumhole?

Those aren't smiles of girls who are happy to be there. But girls who are naïve enough to think their rape is over, once they are off the stage...

They are completely vain. They are also dominated by absurdly liberal scoring, including declaring a Tranny as "Miss Universe". I wonder what possible motivation the Devil could have for promoting LGBTQ nonsense at a beauty pageant, but it's quite literally designed to program our children to be another generation of perverts.

Wish they brought them back. Perhaps lasses wouldn't aspire to be slobbettes (and wouldn't waddle like fat dudes instead of walking the way women formerly strolled) and would become more feminine.(Of course, these pageants MUST be rigidly screened to keep out pervs and abusers.)

In the USA, they are pageants, not beauty pageants. They are beauty pageants in name only. Beauty is not the primary factor and is limited to a certain type, that excludes the types that most men would define as beautiful.

I think kinda like there’s nothing wrong with appreciation for elegance n beauty 🎀 … Pageants capture elements… Beauty is like so much more encompassing than just what is highlighted at pageants of course — But there is nothing I see inherently all bad bout beauty pageants or fashion shows if accepting them for what they are.

I'm reluctantly okay with adult pagents, but those ones with the 5-9 year old girls wearing makeup and skimpy outfits... Every adult involved should be jailed for child abuse.

Given how women evolved it's not surprising. Kind of the female equivalent of body building competitions. I think they're mostly about women and men don't actually pay that much attention to them.

I think they are very archaic at this point in history and serve no useful purpose. I further think that the women that participated in them really have some narcissistic traitsif not narcissistic personality disorder.
