I like them. I was very overweight and I won a couple local beauty pageants and some international ones. Funny thing is after loosing 90lb u would think I’d be all about it now but I’m ironically not anymore. Could also be because I’m older and lazier now. The pageant world requires a lot from u. Beauty, grace and knowledge. U got to be looked at as a goddess during ur time. Human beings r fascinated with beauty. Beautiful women and beautiful men, hell even beautiful children. Being beautiful is work. Just because I was overweight then doesn’t mean I wasn’t chugging water and doing things to keep my skin beautiful and hair shiny, nails clean, etc. Ur expected to be intelligent and always having to prove that which to me challenged me to constantly expand my knowledge so I could surprise people. Ur also expected to have a charity u actively work with. So if ur building hospitals in Africa for poor children ur pretty ass had to be out there doing it. U r the face of perfection and expected to give 120% at all times every time. Ur a role model and u got to first had have other little girl wish to me u. It gives many young girls something to look forward to, something to model their life from. My pageant life really molded how I do things even today. I’m quicker to help people because I’ve spent so long helping other people in different countries with different experiences and seeing how grateful they r. I would have never seen that had I not done pageants. I continue to take a level of care in my appearance which goes over into taking care of my health. I also keep expanding my knowledge because old habits die hard. Also u get a lot of money. I was able to help my family with a lot at a young age. I was able to be apart of a lot of the decision making on where many investors money went to in helping other people. It’s weird the pageant world is HUGE. Think being able to be famous but on an under ground level where once u leave that life u can go on to live relatively normal.

I like them, they involve beauty, intelligence and pride of country. I also like them because latinas have done very well in them, Latin America is the region with the most miss universe titles.
Amelia Vega is probably my favorite beauty queen in general but Ximena Navarrete is the most beautiful beauty queen in my opinion, viva México 🇲🇽
I don't follow them, but as a concept they're meant to show over time, this is an ideal woman if I'm not mistaken. Kind of like the Mr. Universe competition, only the women in those have to bring a "talent" to the table besides simply looks.
Past the concept, what a strange life. Kind of like training for the olympics, they have that one shot to be the best, the silver medal doesn't mean jack. The choices and sacrifices they have to make to get up on that stage since a very young age have to be insane.
I don't care fr them, but I don't see what's wrong with them either.

They dont add nothing to society and it is nothing educational and they are pointless. Beauty is subjective, so how would you decide who gets to decide who is prettiest? For me is a selfish event. Most pageants are meant for ladies who have perfect bodies cause they are easily to put on display. It degrades women because it means that only pretty ladies with good bodies can compete in soemthing that is selfish and pure vanity. Look at me look at me!!! Unrealistic beauty standards. Like saying ladies with body flaws do not even worth. But also women with body flaws like we all have, wishes there be pageants for them and do not discriminate that side of women that just because you dont have perfect bodies does not mean you can compete, so it is the reason whether a beauty pageant is for flawless women or pageants aimed to for example overweight ladies is not worth and useless. I mean why ladies with nice bodies or women who do not have perfect bodies need to proof that there has to be pegeants for that? WHy the competition to proof what? Not worth any kind of pageants and much less where tehre pageants for little girls? That is so terrible!! I will add an example of a overweight lady who is competing for some pageant in my city because the lady says sterotypes need to be broken so is important overweight women also participate in pageants to feel valuable and that overweight ladies are also pretty she quotes.
FUNCTIONALLY they are NO different than any OTHER 'livestock' exposition...
that said, there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG being 'pragmatic' and HONEST about
what constitutes 'state-of-the-art' subjective 'Best of Breed' glamoury~
SOME folks find pre-teen pageants exploitive and 'pervy' BUT...
pragmatically, its NO DIFFERENT than cultivation of rose buds
to become the ADULT 'best' freshest blooms.

Regional differences, expose personal preferences! If women like it then I think they should go for it.
Everyone women cannot be the winner and I hope it doesn’t play a major role in the downfall of the women’s confidence who are competing in the beauty pageant’s. Personally, I like watching beauty pageant’s because it’s not to see the beauty of women dress up and glide across the stage. I must admit that there are some very beautiful women out there whether they’re done up or not. I’m a woman and I like to see beautiful women as well !I used to be a pageant girl. I think they’re cool to a certain point. Sometimes it becomes more about money though. A lot of them have ridiculous entry fees. Trying to secure corporate sponsors during the recession was pretty difficult. If your family isn’t of money then you’re already at a big disadvantage.
I'm against beauty pageant's, because they give girls and women the wrong message that it's all about beauty. If a woman/girl isn't beautiiful, they are worthless, but that's not true.
This is why girls/women are very insecure about their bodies, because society tells women that if they are not beautiful, you are worthless, you're not deserving of love, no one will like you etc.
Even little kids (3 - 4 years old) are participating in a childbeauty pageant.
Women know that their beauty will fade as they get older, but that doesn't mean they are less beautiful.
Companies and other business people are exploiting people's weaknesses, that's very low of them.I quite like them actually. My sister and I love judging the dresses. I understand many find it distasteful or reinforcing the patriarchy and beauty standards and whatever but most people don’t even care enough to watch them or interact with pageants, at least not in the uk. I think it’s great that many women can do projects and help others by using this platform.
The pageants are sad and make a lady only care about superficial things, including her looks and material stuff.
Are we supposed to believe tho ladies are genuine and have decent morals?
That whole world makes me sad and I hope it goes away.I would rather see a transformation pageant where girls start out morphologically less than they could be and are transformed over the course of several rounds into something stunning but none get to see what they look like until the end when the winner is crowned and they bring in the mirror. The winner is based on who changed the most.
I think it's a form of femininity. You feel attactive and special. As gender roles are changing this could be looked at differently. But overall, it's a way to feel beautiful. It's one of the only times you get an award for beauty and be celebrated for the person you are. Given, there should be a much greater focus on eithical views and intelligence which should be a factor more so than just the beauty it's self, a person should be beautiful inside and out
The event itself seems pretty weird. But then I'm not gonna turn my nose up at watching a load of hot girls dressing up all sexy lol. It must be a real ego trip for the winner though. Kinda like that episode of Community where everyone tells Jeff he's "more handsome than the guy who's famous for being handsome".
I think they are arbitrary.
Beauty is subjective, so how would you decide who gets to decide who is prettiest?
What if the arbitrarily chosen judge likes more than one of the girl's looks by the same amount? Who wins at that point?
Whats the point of having a winner to begin with? It's not like they get a relationship out of it.Useless these days. There aren't enough natural women in those things anymore. In recent times I've heard that the pageants have included "transgender females" as models. Why would I want to see a mentally ill faggot prancing around on the world stage in women's bra and panties? Nauseating even to think about!
I think it is pointless and humiliating as a woman to get choosen like an object from supermarket. I mean i can understand animal beauty pageants such as cow or cat beauty pageants and they are choosen for their health aka how well taken care they are. But how tf you choose a human beauty pageant? I am sure you dont look at their health like you do to animals pageants. So it is kinda sexist and humiliating for me.
I think it is hypocritical… on many fronts but the main thing is when women complain that they have to look a certain way are believe that they have to be a certain way… but then will watch the pageants or will participate in them.. lol like porn stars.. a lot of the women say they don’t even like sleeping with the guy they have too.. for work. Then why do it if you don’t like it, or think ill of it. I just think it’s all hypocritical.
I think when it’s adults or older teens (over 16), then it’s okay.
however we do get shown shit from the States about really young Beauty pagents, which are just bad and wrong on so many levels.sucks now since there's no swimsuit competition. I could care less what some brainless ditz walking up on stage has to say about current socio-political issues. just show off your body get your boobs and butt back in the bathing suit and flaunt your assets which is what guys and most women who are watching it and women who are bi queer lesbian want to see which is why we're watching it. not to hear you speak especially about crap we don't give a rats ass about
Honestly I think they're generally pointless, and put way too much stock in the subjective opinions of a handful too have any value.
Meh they are very worthless the only thing note worthy about them is that time Steve Harvey screwed reading a card and the joke about how if football players can't take drugs then beauty pageants shouldn't have makeup
Fake, who decides what's beauty it's way too subjective for a grading system.
That being said they are a traditional event who's never hurt anyone so I see no reason for hating on itwhilst i would never hide the fact i love looking at womens bodies, this sort of thing is hugely outdated but a great example of how sexism is still prevaillant in todays psuedo modern liberal society
