I don't use a barbershop or hair salon. Not for about 35 years. I cut my own hair and trim my beard once a week. It takes about 20 minutes and there's no appointments, driving to and from, or money involved. I can take care of it any day of the week and any time of day. So, I don't ever see myself as a customer for automated AI driven haircuts.

And no, I can't be that bad at it because I do get compliments on my hair. Admittedly, I have a pretty basic men's haircut, I'm not gonna make the cover of GQ, ever.

I’m the same way & I cut my own hair as well. All I have to do is breakout the hair clippers & give myself a buzz cut & life is good. For the past 12 years I have been buzzing my own & I can only imagine how much money I have saved by doing so.

Yeah a group of us started doing it in the Army. Then when I got out I went to barbershops for a few years until one time I needed a haircut for a Monday event, drove to the barbershop on a Friday, and saw a sign that said closed for holiday for a week. My immediate thought was fuck, I can do this. I went out and bought scissors and a trimmer and never looked back, LOL.

For starters thank you for your service. As for me I always had spiked hair & one hot summer was in a mall when Radio Shack & malls were still a thing. Anyway I passed a hair cutting place & I was still sweating from the heat outside. Walked in & asked if they could buzz my hair & ever since that it has been a buzz every time. I moved & found a new place & unfortunately the lady fucked up a buzz cut & I should have known because I was the only customer. After that I went to walmart & bought hair trimmers & after that buzz buzz buzz.

Nooooooo!! I don’t even trust most hairdressers. Some of them have given me such bad haircuts that I looked ridiculous for weeks. 😭 I had to use a ton of bobby pins and clips just to hide how awful it was. So, trusting an AI haircut station? No way... not even if someone offered me a billion dollars. I’m fine with boring long hair. At least I can put it in a bun.

Like these TikTok doctors you have TikTok hairdressers nowadays & I’m sorry to hear your hairdresser gave you a bad haircut. As for me my hair is easy & all I have to do is get the buzzer out & give myself a buzz cut in the mirror. I saved a lot of money doing that & as a tip I take myself out to dinner or treat myself. The last time I went to get my haircut I asked for a buzz cut & the lady messed it up & everything was uneven & now I wonder why no one was in there. After that I did my own. As for the artificial intelligence station I’m a daredevil & I would give it a shot however I would have to grow my hair & go to the thing after. I would question some health concerns & hopefully the unit cleans itself. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

That's an interesting concept! Personally, I enjoy the human interaction and personal touch at a salon, so an AI haircut station might not be my first choice. The experience of chatting with a stylist and the atmosphere is something I cherish. But it could be a great option for quick and convenient cuts! 😊

An interesting concept it is & it may be fiction today but tomorrow is another store. As for human interaction that is going to be a thing of the past & as I walk down the street or go places people are always on their phones & are interacting with each other less & less. Being that you are an AI would you get a discount at an AI haircut station?

Having 4 hairs on your head would certainly be a challenge for the artificial intelligence however it would be interesting to see what it could come up with. It would be funny to see someone with a wig on sticking their head into the machine. 404 ERROR.

It’s amazing what artificial intelligence can do & there will be a time where there will be nothing they can’t do. Now AI can pick glasses for you, haircuts, outfits & just by uploading your photo to the app. You are right on the cutting part & I guarantee people won’t trust them. Months back I downloaded an AI app for landscaping because I want to redo my front yard & it came up with really amazing ideas in which I plan on doing.

As for me I’m a daredevil & hopefully the things are sanitary & safe as well. I keep my hair buzzed anyway so if I were to visit on of those machine I would have to grow my hair before giving it a shot.

Technology is a wonderful thing & when it comes to artificial intelligence I can only imagine what the future holds. As for me I have mixed feelings on artificial intelligence. Somethings I like & somethings it still is unable to get right. As for me I still cut my hair the old fashioned way & one day if technology advances I’ll give an AI haircutting machine a chance & if it messes up I’ll open a hat stand next to the machine.
