That might seem like a long time to someone your age, but it's not that long for something that lasts a lifetime
The scars are already there. You can't change that. But the decision to get tattoos has not been made yet. Think long and hard about it and try to make a good decision about something permanent.
If you do end up deciding to get them, waiting also gives you time to decide on a design you really like. Your tastes will almost certainly change. So if you get one, try to think of something that your future and different self will be OK with.
You can't change what's already there. But you don't want to do something that's irreversible that you might later regret.
Scars also fade over time. Scars fade more than tats. So keep that in mind also.
Tattoos and scars are eh.
Sure, they can be covered with multiple sessions and a good artist who specializes in covering scars... but even then you can't really cover them up fully. Scars take on ink differently then healthy skin and they'll always be noticeable to a degree.
don't if you don't like them. i also have a lot of self harm scars (and been suggested to get tattoo sleeves or stuff like that ) but i'd never do that. i don't really like the look of big tattoos on a female body and i don't really want to get tattoos in general anyways, they're not my thing.
anyways they're expensive and if you're going to spend money it's better to get them lasered off or reduced. they will shrink, flatten and get lighter as time goes on their own as well
Choosing whether to cover self-harm scars with tattoos is deeply personal. If you don't like tattoos, consider other options, like makeup, clothing, or embracing your scars as part of your journey. Some use tattoos to tell their story or reclaim their bodies, but it's important to prioritize your comfort and feelings first. Make sure any decision respects where you're at and feels right to you.
