Does glasses frames matter?

So I have a mild form of myopia (nearsighted) and I'm just wondering.. Does the style of frames you choose for your glasses really matter all to much or is it just if you like that design?

a hawt person in glasses is a hawt person in glasses. I say the frames' impact on glasses is negligible.

But since you brought up myopia, i have just stacked something additional to my old regular rants about "the eye is just like any focal apparatus, elongating the two ends to reduce focal distance and shortening to increase the focal distance, just like any telescope 🔭 🔭 🔭 🔭 🔭 which means your eye muscles easily can do the job that glasses take away from you, and the fact that myopia progresses means that your eyes are still capable of changing focal distance, which means the eyeball is still flexible, which proves that you can easily fully reverse myopia, and the astigmatism goes away as a side effect since it is nothing more than the warping of the cornea caused by the elongation of the eyeball when you attempted to look close. The solution is to read your books as far away from your face as possible, and gradually increasing the distance month after month. And the difference in diopters between driving distance vision and paper work is about 1.5 diopters, in case if you get horrible myopia where you need a pair for each, to avoid "too close" reading that would happen if you wore full distance vision glasses for up-close work. And in 2017 the website called endmyopia. org was extremely easy to navigate like any old pages, but now last i checked it got overly decorated. You used to be able to learn all you need to reverse myopia in just a couple of minutes of reading... check it out anyway."

I don't know how many times i spammed that stuff on here. But this time i got something of more esoteric substance to add below, but i have not had a chance to verify if this is true in the real world, as i just came up with this:

I think people develop myopia often times as a mechanism to "turn a blind eye" to something in a not so metaphorical carryover.

People who feel like they have to push through life despite not knowing where they are and know no method of obtaining clarity. They wish to stop seeing problems around them.

People who work with other people whom they hate and wish they would stop seeing them: unconsciously dial back their own eyesight for relief.

People who set unrealistic expectations for themselves, unconsciously try to become blind to the challange they're facing.

Etc.

When I am at my eye doctor, and they sell the glasses and frames too. I look over the frames to make sure they are strong enough to handle being on my face 24/7. Then I also let the Woman who adjusts the glasses give her opinion on what looks good on my face. I balance out those two things, and choose a pair of frames.

I think the shape of the frames do matter if you care about looks at all. Some frames definitely look better on specific face shapes more so than others. And it’s subjective so it depends on what look you are going for..

It matters to me because I wear glasses everyday. Some frames don't look good with my oval shaped face so I am picky about style and colour.

Different frames look better on some people. But the important thing is to make sure they work for you. I don't have glasses (fingers crossed). It also might be good to get some second or third opinions from someone you trust... just a thought.

I'd assume... since I've never needed them, that comfort is definitely a must they have to be comfortable... if you're going to wear them most of the day

They make a difference -- some are stylish, some make it seem like you are hiding. Have you considered contacts? They work great for mild myopia, they are easy to wear, and are not expensive.

I guess there are some technical limitation since some glasses will be too thin or too thick cut in specific shapes.

they have to nbe comfortable and I think durable. I had glasses that used to fall off when I bent over, This time I made sure I got a frame that did not fall off.

Of course. Most people don't get frames that flatter their faces. They have to "make a statement" with their glasses. uggh
