1.3K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I am all for women wearing makeup and differentiating themselves from men. It makes them look more feminine.
I don't think it is any more fake than shaving, getting hair died and styled, and smelling nice.
But there is an art to making makeup look natural. Too much can be grotesque or look totally fake.
For instance, I really dislike big, fake-looking eye lashes, too much eye liner, obvious eye shadow and gaudy lipstick.
But when done right, the "no makeup" makeup look can make a woman's face glow and look fresh and tender.20 Reply

u 2 moThere is nothing wrong with some makeup, as long as you stay away from the cakeface, the clownface and especially the faces-of-Mar-A-Lago looks.

2 moModeration appears to be the key in makeup use. But some folks like ridiculous looks, like the highly fake eyelashes that are glued on. But they're SO fake, everyone knows they're fake. So, how can you complain!
I like modest enhancement. Makeup is supposed to enhance, not obliterate!30 Reply

Makeup is a tool, not deception 🙂
For me it’s like fashion: an expression, a mood booster, sometimes a little armor for tough days. It can highlight features, show creativity, or just be fun glitter on a Friday night.
Deception is about intent, not eyeliner. As long as no one is lying about who they are, makeup simply enhances, it doesn’t fake.00 Reply

2 moI don’t know if pro makeup is the right term to use but I do not have anything against anyone using it I do believe a lot of people need serious lessons and help on how to apply it and not look like a bad horror move lol I think most of the time it should be used to where it’s hard to tell any was used but then on the flip side I have seen some makeup art work that was jaw dropping art work there are lots of women who think they need it and they are just beautiful or fine without it I’ve had to wait for the war paint application and sometimes I would think why spend all that time putting it on when you are just fine or beautiful without it I guess since I don’t use it then I am just not qualified to fully understand their reasons but it apparently makes them feel better so I won’t knock it if it makes her smile let her have it pat her on the back and tell her she looks wonderful tonight

m 2 moWell the phrasing here is really weird to me, why for/against? Why not simply like/dislike? How can any man be seriously against makeup when it's not even their business, you know what I mean?
So sticking to how you phrased it, I can only be for make up, because the opposite option is totally cringe lol

Like would be pro and dislike would be against for the most part.

2 moMakeup is fine. It can make a woman feel good about herself like wearing a nice outfit or having her hair done. All I ask is use it tastefully. Too much can be a turnoff. Not because it's deception, because it can look freakish. Just learn to use makeup tastefully. The same goes for fake nails and eyelashes or pushup bras. A little is nice. Too much can be disturbing.

2 moI look harder and judge more harshly. Makeup is deception... like me wearing a shirt that gives me more muscles to make it make more sense. It's certain types of makeup that pisses me off and I don't know the names of them. Like, Eyeliner just looks cool, but that other stuff to cover up their face... makes me question.

2 molol I don’t care….. As far as dating pick the kind of woman you want but I can’t stand the people who want to force people to conform to their standards.
At the end of the day if you forced people to be a certain way it wouldn’t be genuine…. Why worry so much about this anyways there are bigger things to worry about. I say if you want to wear it then wear it and if you don’t ….. then don’t

s 2 mowell.. first of all, I am not insecure, so.. I've never felt threatened by makeup
second... I've actually had women in my life, and lived with them too... so I know how these things actually work, lol
with that being said... there's really bad makeup out there sometimes that it can be way too much, and also too often, but that goes the same for many other things in fashion and style, both for men and women10 Reply I’m not against it
Technically speaking: if you look good in makeup you’re good looking enough to look good in makeup
Because it’s a double edged sword, many people look a lot worse the more they put on
So while I do prefer natural beauty, and consider less is more when it comes to makeup, I don’t have an inherent and all imcohmpassing dislike of it10 Reply662 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Definitely against China Doll level of make up where the girl looks like porcelain and start wondering what defects are being covered up.
However if a girl didn't wear lipstick and some make up on a date I'd probably be offended by her lack of effort.

2 moI'm not against it but I prefer she not use any, or at least not much. My previous girlfriend only ever wore lipstick and, most of the time, you could hardly even tell she was wearing it.
I don't mind lipstick, eye liner and a bit of rouge but, it IS deceptive if she looks one way without it and completely different with it.10 Reply

2 moIf you are a bride and are going to be photographed 1000 times in one day, then sure cake it on if you wish. It's not going to make you any more attractive. But the photos

2 moIt can be deception if done to fool people but for the most part the reason I'm against isn't for that since that doesn't happen too often, it's just many women don't really need it, it's unnecessary, I do get many do it for themselves but I think if natural beauty was as admired by them it would be better, over all I think the way of thinking makeup has formed is somewhat harmful to women's mental health.
10 Reply Voted against, but in reasonable amounts on special occasions it's fine.
What I don't like is the sort of thing that can lead to photos like this:

Blemishes are normal and not important. By all means cover up the odd spot or two, if you like, but plastering it all over your face every day is just throwing money away.
Just my opinion, of course.
10 ReplyIf you have natural beauty keep it that way don't hide it under makeup. As you age that make up that you wanted to wear to be beautiful when you were younger is eventually going to catch up with you that's where wrinkles come in because you're suffocating your skin by blocking your pores. I highly prefer natural beauty
24 Reply- 2 mo
If you're naturally beautiful underneath you don't need the makeup believe me guys like myself go to places where dancers work and I will pick a natural beauty over somebody that had on caked up makeup. Like I said before eventually it's going to catch up to you and when the wrinkles kick in and your money starts falling back I guarantee you it's going to be because of that makeup that you wanted to look good for your customers right now. Try one night with no makeup and then wear your pros and cons
Anonymous(18-24)2 moI’m fine with makeup. I even wear it myself sometimes.
For that matter, I’m honestly shocked that there are people in this world (mostly guys, I guess, based on what you wrote) who dislike it enough to be anti-makeup.

2 moMy reaction to the wearing of make up is it should be applied to enhance your natural beauty and not over whelm the individuals really gorgeous natural beauty upon them trying to improve what is needed for the point of herself feeling attractive and sexy

Anonymous(36-45)2 moThis is another one of those false binary choices. I think too much makeup is a problem in that it looks fake and it's pretty obvious to everyone that that's what she's doing. I think no makeup is a problem because that makes the woman look washed out, particularly as she has very light skin and doesn't display her her best features in a way that makes her feel good. So in the interests of agreement, I would say that light makeup is a good compromise in that it doesn't make the person wearing it look like a clown and it is not particularly deceptive yet. It makes the woman wearing it probably feel more confident and happy about her appearance which is also extremely important. Thus my resolution of the seemingly false binary of this question.
02 Reply- 2 mo
No its not. You're basically saying your pro makeup even if it's on the lighter side. It wasn't saying pro makeup but only when its caked on. It just said pro makeup which you've agreed to as not only did you say light make up is fine, but you even commented that no make up is a problem
Thus this disproves your false binary theory. Thanks for playing though.
Opinion Owner2 moIt makes the woman feel less confident because she looks washed out or doesn't like the way she looks. Then that makes her less attractive.
2 moI'm all for it. It improves our appearance.
20 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I'm against makeup. I mean, a little bit of natural looking cosmetics is ok, but I don't like anything exaggerated like lipstick, eye shadow, blusher etc.
Primer, concealer, and face powder are quite sufficient.
