Should I dress up or stay comfy when my girlfriends come over for lunch?

They’re visiting my home and we’re eating chicken casserole and steamed rice, then apple pie and cream for dessert. It’s a day with three of us there to spend girl time together, without our guy friends, watching girly movies.

In these cases, do you dress nicely or just be comfortable, in a warm jumper or a hoodie and track pants? Depending on the weather?

I believe that the hostess is responsible for setting the dress code for the event. I know girls who have afternoon tea and cookies events with their friends and they all dress to impress. I also know girls who would invite friends over for girl time and the dress code was sweat pants and a wife beater.
