What exactly is the purpose behind men's shampoo?

all my life I thought that hair was just hair at the end of the day, whether it was coming out of a man or a woman's body. therefore I never understood the purpose behind men's shampoo.

I can understand if perhaps men's shampoo are just not scented since this is something we always stay away from.

lets not forget that shaving cream was obviously creator for men to shave our faces but nevertheless women still used them to shave their legs and other body parts and that I know it never harmed them in any way.

I don't think shampoo is just about hair per se. Whether you're a man or a woman your sculp still needs to cleaned and rid of all the natural hair oils that collect and to clear things like dandruff if there is. So what is the purpose of men's shampoo? A cleaning product that is suitable for men.
