Should I dress casual or smart casual for a fancy pub night out?

I'm going out with my friends on Monday night, to a fancy pub. People often dress smart casual or casual there. I would like to go casual as there is no one there that I want to impress and it is cold weather.

How pretentious is this pub? There are a couple near me which are quite uppity but I will leave it to others to dress up. Pubs only have dress standards for guys.

If you aren’t looking to impress anyone , then just dress any way you like or want to , casual is fine, if that’s pretty much how every else dresses there and if you aren’t seeking attention who cares lol
