I suppose it depends on why they are asking. If it is in a complimentary way then I don't think it would be rude. At least I would not take it to be that way.

I honestly haven't had anyone ask anything about my hair other than friends asking where I got it done at. I have had people compliment me on it before. Just never ask a question. Probably because you can see it. What is there to ask then, I suppose?

I don't think so, I've been asked a few times in forums and in Dms. I think it's more the matter of asking. If some dude DMed and was like "hey cutie, how long is your hair? I wanna yank it hard." I'd probably block them lol
