Why did he run away when he saw me?

I went to a guy friend's house yesterday for a party his mom was having. When he first came home and noticed a bunch of women there, he looked directly at me with a deer in the headlights expression and pretty much ran away. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't come over and say hello. But is that unreasonable?

He came out again later when it was just me and one other person talking in the corner and he got coffee and stood there talking with us. Why did he initially run away? Not exaggerating, he bolted. Made me think he doesn't like me and only came out later for the food, lol.

Are you sure he was looking at you or do you think he was looking at you? Sounds like he was like, "The guests are here! Must get everything ready!" and rushed off to do something he hadn't done yet (or he needed to pee). That's probably why he ran away.

He likes you. He was surprised to see you and thought "crap, did I just show I was surprised?" and ran away. He sounds cute.
