I'm completely in love with my guy friend and he returned the feelings but I realised it too late. I was out with him and a girl friend of his one day and I asked him if they were dating and he said no, they were just friends. I said to him "she's really nice" and then I blurted out "me and this other guy (who he knows too) have been hanging out a lot... Its about time something happened" he went "oh yeah" and was really quiet after that. A week later he announces he's dating that girl.

He might've dated her anyway but if a girl said to you that so and so is nice then mentions another guy, was I giving him the message that I wasn't interested and pushed him into her arms? Sucks for me because I am.

I would say it really depends on the guy. Some guys, something like that would make them try harder with you. Others, ya it would push them away. my current boyfriend did something like that to me before we started dating and it broke my heart. It was just so easy for him to be with some other girl. but in the end, he only did it because of choices that I made and me taking him for granted. So the best thing i can say to help you out, is don't mention that other guy to him anymore and only put as much effort into your friendship as he does. luckily for me, it didn't work out for my boyfriend and the other girl... he says its cuz he loved me but I think i just got lucky.

If he was interested in you, then yep. You really ruined that possibility for yourself lol
