GIRLS: would be upset if someone gave a random guy your number without asking you first if it's ok?

Me and my friends were at the club a couple nights ago. I walked off to talk to some people and when I came back my guy friend was talking to some girl. He introduced me to her and she immediately says "yeah you're friend's a freakin liar." So I asked her what happened. She said they were talking and that he lied about something really stupid and that she can't stand liars. I was like aww dude I'm sorry. So she kind of chewed him out a minute and walked away. Well I saw her a few minutes later and we started talking. She was like "You're awesome we should hang out. Let me give you my number." Well my guy friend found out I got it and has been calling me and texting me asking me to give it to him. I said "no dude, if she wanted you to have her number that she would have given it you. OR if she wanted me to give it to you she would have said something"

I had a friend give my number to a random guy that hit on me last year (and I was p*ssed as hell). If I want a guy to have my number then I will give it to him or signal you to do it. Either way, I think that if you plan on giving a random person my number that you should ask me first. I mean what if I don't like the person? Then you just put me in a weird unnecessary position.

So anyway, I told my friend that the next time I talked to her, that I would ask if its ok to give him her number. But that's it. I'm not going to give out someone's number without their consent. Its not cool.

Ya of course I'd be annoyed if it was to someone I didn't care for and that person kept on texting or calling me. I kinda have a habit, though, of giving out friends' phone numbers just because another friend wants to contact them but doesn't have their number...also recently 2 of my friends [who are young teenagers] ran away from home and I got in contact with their moms and gave their moms phone numbers to try to reach them to try to help them get back home where they belong...unfortunately I found out that one mom called 1 of the numbers and started wrongfully bitching at the girl answering assuming that she helped her daughter stay away from home.

Well that's kinda diff from this scenario. I'm not talking about a friend who needs another friends number. I'm talking about if you just met a girl and gave her your number, then her guy friends wanted the number. I don't think its my place to be passing out this girls number to people she doesn't know and what not.

okay, I wouldn't be mad if my friend gave my number out, I'd find it kind of funny. my friend and I were gunna start giving guys we didn't like each other's numbers lol. just as a joke. HOWEVER this girl isn't really your friend yet so in this case I would say definitely DO NOT give him her number. that would be messed up.

Totally un-okay because if I don't like the person who has my number it puts us both in an awkward position. If I do like them it would still make me a bit mad, because really, how hard is it to ask me one teensy little question before giving out my personal information?

if he was interested in her he could ask her for her number. like everyone said don't give the phone number to you'r friend unless you ask her first if she's cool with that.

It depends on the situation... A friend of mine met her husband that way. She dated a guy a few times and they didn't hit it off so he gave her # to his buddy. They talked for weeks, met and have now been married for 10 years with 3 kids. Sometimes things just happen so other situations can fall into place. =)

i hate when my friends give out my number to people without my permission, especially if it's to some random guy I do not know, who has an interest in me. if it's someone I know and have a friendship with, and my friedns know that I'm cool with him/her, then I'm fine with it.

I would be extremely angry if someone gave my number out without my permission. There are enough people in the world I don't want to talk to, so to give them the opportunity to bother me in the privacy of my own home is just wrong.

If I wasn't interested in him, it would really annoy me but it would annoy me even if I did like him because I like to give people my number, personally. It's not like I need any help with it.

It is not okay to give out contact information without that person's permission. Period.

Of course there are exceptions, but this particular scenario was not.

Random guys could of course be nice but if you like me then ask me for number. Or if your friend has my number say "hey can you give my number and to her and ask her to call me." Or "hey can you ask her if its ok for me to get her number." I would be upset if he just gave you my number without asking first.
