If a guy tells you that your hair looks pretty tied back, is it just a compliment or does it mean something?

This happened to me one day... I had swimming first period, and my hair was all wet and stiff from chlorine. I walked into third period and the first thing that my crush says to me is, "Hey, you know... your hair looks really pretty tied back like that." He kind of gives compliments where compliments aren't deserved a lot to me, but I don't know if it means anything or if he's just trying to be nice.

The possibilities are:

1) He likes you and thinks your hair looks pretty tied back.

2) He doesn't like you but thinks your hair looks pretty tied back.

3) He likes you and doesn't think your hair looks pretty tied back, but just said that because he likes you.

4) He doesn't like you and doesn't think your hair looks pretty, he is just being nice.

For me to say this to a girl. I would have to either a) know her really well and be good friends with her without liking her or b) like her a lot and actually genuinely think she looks pretty.

With this being said, I think the strongest possibility is that he likes you a lot, and he genuinely thinks that you looked good/pretty with your hair tied back.

Hes just letting you know he's into you. When a guys into you, he thinks everything is pretty.

its a compliment. do it more often and he might notice or do it fewer times and see if he notices more that way, either way you go, he's liking it
