Is it okay to be flirting with a 21 year old but i'm 17?

Basically, a guy that I knew of once, has recently started talking to me, at first it was just friendly but now it's quite flirty and i'm also starting to like him more as we grow closer and he is quite obvious that he is showing interest in me too. The thing is, i'm 17 and he's 21. I am very mature for my age and I am often told that by others and he is a decent guy with a good job, ambitions etc. I also find that guys my age are too immature for relationships. I'm unsure though as to whether a 4 year age gap is too much since I am 17 so I don't know whether I should try and refrain myself from starting to like him whilst it's still in early days or not.
Opinions on a 21 year old dating a 17 year old girl please.

Flirting? That's harmless. Dating? I would wait until your 18. It might be legal where you're at so you can do what you want. Personally, I don't look too kindly on people who can't seem to wait for people to get to "adult" age before pursuing them.

Yeah it is legal however I wouldn't do anything more at the moment anyway and I am 18 in a few months.

Its okay. The age gap isn't big but you should refrain from sexual relations until you are eight at least.

It's fine that you like a guy 4 years older than you. Most people would get married have some sort of age gap between them. As long as you know he likes you for you and he isn't trying to get in your pants. Then it should be all good

Flirting is often times a harmless thing to do. Unless you actually act on it and do something sexual with one another, it should be fine.

She's like you she's pretty mature and she's super attractive but I'd really rather just remain friends just because for me it's socially not ok and I live in a state where it's not even legal. I do occasionally wish she had been born just a year earlier. Maybe in another life right.
