It isn't sad really. I mean as a guy I approach every single girl I'm interested in but there have been times where I am legitimately not sure to really approach someone or beat around the bushes because she is way too pretty for two basic reasons: 1. Probably has a boyfriend (which they generally do) and that guy in question has $$$, tall, muscular and probably is a professional skater/surfer/insert any other sport here, and his hobby is driving fast cars/bikes (probably owns an awesome car by the way.) 2. The highest chance is she'll reject me or try to avoid any sort of romantic move though this reason is secondary and rare if I have to be honest. See, girls that are very, very attractive get constant offers and have plenty of choices so they don't really see the little things, the details, but they tend to make a quick evaluation of guys. How do I know this? Ask one of my sisters (she's known to be attractive don't ask me) and her group of friends. Growing up with girls gave me some insight on how that stuff works and the countless rejections I ever had too, so there you go my two cents.

I think it also depends on how the person is. As in approacable. Take me for instance, I've been told that I'm intimidating (keep inn mind I'm 5'4" 135 lbs. wet). When I wear sunglasses, apparently I can look like I'm in "battle mode." As a result, I just try to smile more by thinking of "stupid shit."
For the girl equlivalent, it could be the proverrbial "fock off" facce she has on her forehead. If with friends, does she look like she's having a good time? Is she approachable?
The weird thing with me (and posibally other guys) is that I'm fine with talking to the gal once I know I have little chane with them. It's like a friendly vibe. Once that changes, I tend to freeze (think deer in headlights). It's probably the notion of "oh crap, this could lead to something... what do I do if?"
Yess!! that's how I feel, once I realise that as far as i'm gonna get is a friendship it becomes almost immediately easier for me to have an actual conversation with them. However if it ends up going the opposite way I pretty much lose all kind of verbal speech. Although that's never gonna happen if people continue to get intimidated and as far as I know I'm not the type to wear the whole "Fark off" face.

That's the thing with humans. Some want attractive, just not "too attractive" for fear people will think "what is s/he doing with him/her." People just really need not to be so judgmental, but that's another thing altogether. The people that are thinking that s/he's too attractive to approach could have self image issues.
As for approaching a gal, I just try to think "what have I got to loose?" If I were younger, I'd approach you (hopefully that doesn't make me DOM... Dirty Old Man status). I'd be scared beyond belief but I'd do it (its helping that I watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmMFIganRQY every chance I get). I've come to learn (rather the hard way) that there's no telling what another will find appealing / attractive in you.
sometimes I dint want to approach guys i find attractive because I scared i will do something stupid and they won't like to talk to me or because i think they may be snob and won't even answer me.
I have no idea, literally I NEVER get asked out and my whole life it's like "um am I ugly or are guys intimidated like what's going on here?" :/

u For most men, our experience with girls who are 9/10 or 10/10 is that they are aware of their physical attractiveness, they have learned how to use that from an early age, and they use it in a manipulative and controlling fashion. We also don't want to feel that we are one of fifteen guys vying for a girl's attention; those aren't very good odds. The usual outcome, in our perception, will be a negative experience, so why bother?

If you get shot down 70-80-90% of the time, you stop giving it a shot, especially when girls who are a 7/10 or 8/10 are much more fun to be with.

It's very simple. It's like an interview with a major corporation. If she is so good looking, she has the power to choose any guy. There are tons of guys going for that position, so why would she choose me? It's intimidating. Then to make it worse, because every guy approaches her, even if a good guy attempts, she is so guarded, that a guy who is not good with women has a better chance of finding a living t-Rex than winning her heart.

And then (I will use my brother as an example: we liked the same girl) you see some guy who has it all (my brother was the top footballer of his school and clubs) and you don't have it all: how does a guy compete with that? My... brother can't hold an intelligent conversation (I am the educated one and I always write his speeches for him) but.,, he is, hands down, the funniest guy you will ever meet. Him and I are the clowns of our group. I can make anything laugh, but my bro beats me. He has been sent off the pitch for doing the funniest things. Sometimes you laugh just when he walks into the pub. That skill beats intelligence. He has even been assaulted by a gang because he made their girls laugh and swoon over him (me and my best friend went to hospital that night defending him... go South Africa!)
This could be just me but I'd prefer to be able to have an intelligent conversation with someone over anything else, humour of course is also a positive thing.

I had some egg who was too afraid to actually talk to me in person and it actually pissed me off so much cause he could talk to everyone else and yet his response when I asked him what I needed to do to stop myself from being so intimidating was quite simply "stop being so damn cute" I wanted to shoot something.

Yeah, for guys looks can be extremely intimidating, and thats what stops great guys talking to girls who deserve guys like them over the dicks that do talk to them who only have one thing on their mind. To help this guy out maybe talk to him first, kinda initiate the conversations for the first few times until he warms up and realises he's just losing it over nothing. The first few times it may get awkward but he'll break that shell :) Maybe that'll help :)

Wel, try approaching guys you're interested in on a regular basis, and you may understand why that is the case. A lot of hot girls put on this show that makes some guys feel that she would not be into them because they dont have X, Y and Z qualities... so they don't bother

Qualities like being tall, muscular, super social butterfly, a certain race, etc. Basically, they are worried about not being her type... and even more worrisome is the humiliation of approaching a girl who thinks you are way out of her league. by the way, the dynamics when it comes to girls approaching guys isn't the same as guys approaching girls. The pressures are much different

I don't really factor that in, if I find her attractive I just talk to her. For those who do think that, they just psych themselves out by saying they don't stand a chance with someone like that and become intimidated.

I just raised my brow and caught my friend just in time, my best friend was about to ruin the girl's beautiful face. I personally have nothing against beautiful looking people its just that some of these people can be pretty hurtful that's why I and many others avoid them like disease, I feel sad that just because of few many of the good and pretty ones get side stepped.

I root for people who have pretty faces and prettier personality but I still avoid getting in contact with them cause I am hypocritical bitch.
